i just got done watching top gear, and they finally got to take the Bugatti Veyron around their track.
it was expected to be the fastest, but wasn't. In fact it was the fifth fastest around the track getting beat by a Zonda, Koinenzeg (which i'm sure i spelt wrong), and i can't remember the rest.
to me this just shows that power isn't everything.

i never thought it would be the fastest around the track. it just weighs to much to go around those corners fast enough.... i mean, its not the ONLY car to go around that track with that power to weight ratio... but it does dominate in the straights, it even owns bikes
Same time as the M3 and 350z lol.

the 350 that they tested was the 03 that had less power, and they haven't retested it since the newer one, i belive 05 or 06, came out with more power.
let me restate not trying to start an argument here.

. Although this was awhile back lol. I guess bbc america finally caught up in terms of new episodes ehh? If you guys just saw the Veryon and the Zonda F, I think theres still 4 episodes left till season 12 ends. Man are you guys missing out lol.

They finally took it around the track?! Anyone have a link to a video of it? Don't get it here in the US, or it's on at very weird times on the BBC channel here.

Power!!
I saw it last night too. Also you can hear the engine sounded pretty low in the rev range most of the time. I bet The Stig had a hard time getting the 4 turbos to spool up and get into the car's power band. Definitely not a short track oriented car. I'm sure on a bigger track with higher speed corners it would kill.

It's a Cavalier
You don't understand what a Veyron is if you think it should have beaten the record. It's a not a freaking track car... its a Grand Tourer designed to go extremely fast in comfort. For it to run a time like that is nothing short of amazing.

James May tested the top speed in the veyron. I forget where I saw it tho.....youtube? Anyway, I thought it was funny because they call him captain slow haha. I think May even said when he was slowing down that at 70mph, he felt like he could just hop out of the car after going so fast. pretty cool =)
