Nah no exhaust leak, it's just that I hate that smell so I sold it and got an aftermarket cat, original oe exhaust mainifold, glutted pre cat, and some crappy old oe muffler

After the rebuild I will replace the muffler with some oe aftermarket replacement.

I had a 60 gal compressor so i ordered me some guns, and i wanted to learn how to paint. I got much better since then so now if i need anything repainted i can do it =]] plus i dont have to pay someone a outrageious amount of cash to get it done.

Learning to paint is fun, the problem is that the tools required to do the job properly are extremely expensive. Think about the "oven" where you paint the car and wait for the paint to cure. Humidity, dust, craftmanship quality etc all play an important role.
Unfortunately that's the way it is, especially when painting over old, non acrylic paints

Again, if it's a fun project I have nothing against it. On a proper car I wouldn't even remotely attempt to paint anything myself lol

All emmissions are still on the car.. no the rats nest is very simple.. i didnt see any reason to get rid of it.

I figured out the ide issue.. the injectors on the intermediate housing were leaking fuel!!! The fuel diffuser were installed incorectly! o-ring against o-ring doesnt seal very well, and i cant seem to figure out how i missed that! lol had to order them up and put everything back together.

Looks nice... I've wanted to do something like that for a while, but not exactly something a student can manage to afford or put time into. Maybe sometime in the future!

On a side note... every time I glance over the thread title, I think it's an Audi thread..

Very nice! Oreo's (my brother) first car was an 87 FC (non turbo) That was a GREAT car!

I'm still dreaming of the day we can get another to make it our "Project car restauration"

It would probably end up being very similar to the setup you're going for so I'll keep this thread as inspiration.

I sure will get some updated picture on the coilovers!!! it came out real nice and handles great. I just need to replace all of the bushings and get me some sways, and strut bars.

I got this car from its original owner, and he wanted 2k and i paid him in payments. he hadnt posted it online i ran into him while i was working and i walked over to greet him and check out his rx7.

Simple Aftermarket Parts can add to why some are pricey for a decent FC

ALUMINUM flwheel + Stage 2 Exedy Clutch- $1k (if you do it yourself)
Aluminum Driveshaft for N/A FC- $400
Limited Slip Differential- $800
Rebuilt Engine - $2k (if you do it yourself)

If its a Turbo FC properly built.... $8k+

Keep in mind some single turbo conversions cost $5k+ NEW (GT35R+HKS Manifold+ECU, gauges, sensors).....and thats not including the $$$ for a properly built Engine for 300-600hp

If you find a FC at $1-2k... it probably is bone stock and its going to need a rebuild, or its a Junkyard FC and the restoration cost will have you within the price range of buying an FD.
