brembo brakes

I want to put brembo brakes on my RX8, but i dont feel like paying the full price. Will the brembo rotors and calibers of a parted out WRX work?

The 8's brakes are big enough and they have way more than enough stopping power, you'd be wasting your money here man... as for your question i have no idea...

Get something like new rims or the MS body kit, Brembo brakes are $$$

Not sure if you can swap them out, you gotta see if the serial numbers match the ones for an 8. Id have to disagree on it not being worth it. The brembos dont fade out when you do some really aggressive driving. They also allow you to dive in deeper during decel aproching a turn. I have an 09 now and im swapping them off my wrecked 04 cause the brakes just dont even compare.

Another option is RacingBrake. But with the right pad the OEM brake system is quite good.

I like some of the Racing Brake options because you can lose quite a bit of unsprung weight. Do they work as well or better as stock?

The RX8's stock brakes used to take the breath out of me at full ABS on a sticky road. They're very good. What are you going for? Looks? Fade resistance for racing?

The stopping power with the brembos brakes were so much better to my likeing ( I always run with the traction control OFF). No need for driving school for me. If you want to waist your money you can buy an intake and exaust, I wasted $850 on a Borla that fell apart. You can buy a tunning kit for your car if you also want to waist money unless your FIed. All in all the best money spent was probly on those brakes tires and wheels. Even the 09 brakes suck in comparison to brembos, even outlaws sucked.

You might of had faulty brakes Moon? lol im not saying your wrong but alot of people are fully satisfied with their brakes stopping power, only reason i suppose you'd want more stopping power is if your 8 is a track car and you have enough money to spend the 2k or more on the Brembo system... IMO get better brake pads and your Good 2 go...

Well, you could say I drive it on the outer limits. I dont race (on a track). I love the hilly roads like the Dragon. As for driving you can ask anybody who knows me and they will tell you I can drive. Give you an idea on my skills.

Nice but i dont see how a ATV compares to driving the 8, my friend has a atv and can do that, i wouldnt say hes a bad driver but i dont think you can completely compare the two (ATV&Driving) to a car driving skill, i mean i hope we both agree that autocrossing a 8 and going offroading in a ATV are completely different skills no?, at least imo, i could be wrong... im only 16, just stating my opinion and sorry if i offended ya...

Yeh but can he ride a whole trail like that. As for driving a car, its completly different but when you meet at the Dragon and end up the fastest driver there in a 4 speed auto (I have a bad left leg) with a small supercharger to equal things out( same or less power then a 6 speed). Id say I earned my props. I also run a 10 year old Kart at the track and keep up with the big boys id say that also shows. Ive been racing since I was 18, im 30 now.

I just looked on EBAY and you can get used sets for cheap. The worst case is you have to rebuild them, maybe a new set of pads and rotors.

You might wanna check and see if Alcon has setup for RX-8

They have pretty good brakes too.

I saw an Australian website that had an Alcon kit, but I haven't seen anything from Alcon themselves for the 8. It would be cool to get those crescent grooves like on the SpeedSource GT RX-8s- purely from a "coolness" point of view since I think the stock brakes are outstanding.

wow.. just wow

1. Running with TC off is just stupid. Turning it off doesn't show us how great a driver you are, it shows us how stupid you are.

2. It's waste.. not waist.

3. Putting on an intake and exhaust is far from a waste. You'll gain 5 to 10 HP for both and will deepen the sound of the motor. If you're looking for the 20hp gains exhausts and intakes give for other cars.. too bad. Mazda actually did a great job designing the stock ones so there isn't much to be squeezed from them other then sound.

4. A tuning kit being only good for FI? wow, you're just retarded now.

5. After going over your post I am sure that brakes were a great help to you.. for all of the panic stopping you do because all the drivers around you are blinded by your awesomeness.

To the OP.. do whatever you'd like to your car. It's your car. If you want brakes..get em. Just please make sure to take every suggestion and "stone cold fact" people give you here with a grain of salt.

LOL, stupid to run without the DSC, maybe in the rain or snow or if you cant drive. Well with the DSC on your car will PUSH into turns on the edge and would rather slid your car off the road then let the back come around. Spending over $1000 on stuff that claims to make power and dosnt, thats stupid, we at Pettit have even tried the stuff on the dyno and lost power from some stuff and gained very little if any. Funny about panic braking, i never do it and ive never locked them up, ever. And yes, if you want to put a tunning kit on your car NA your disapointed with somthing thats killing your power and id bet money its not the tune, probly bad coils or clogged cat or even fuel pump. Before you call someone stupid again, make sure you know who your calling stupid, im pretty sure you dont know thats why im telling you.
