I never understood Aston's.... theres always a better counterpart for a substantially cheaper price.

Nice looking cars though... I just dont think the look is worth the premium

I think that that is the best aston yet though. Too bad its only for the movie. I would gladly take an aston with a v12 and a real manual tranny. This one looks like a mix between the racing DBR9 and the DB9. I like the result.

Very few companies will trim an interior in any color or material you can think of, use wood from any tree grown on the planet (your choice), and paint the car any color you can imagine. Aston is not about just building cars......they are about building your dream car. Can you get equal performance for less? Sure. Can you get a completely personalized vehicle, custom built to your tastes for less money? No way!

Yet oddly enough just about every Aston on the road is either grey, black or navy blue. lol

Sure you can... sky's the limit... you can customize a car anyway you want and still have a substantial bit of money left over... There are many specialty shops that do custom work on high end cars...porsche has quite an expansive colour selection and will do a custom colour interior and or exterior for you; unfortunately most people dont even know about this.....Lotus has a crap load of colours too... of course you'll have to pay but not THAT much.

Nice cars as they are I think Astons are total rip offs that rely somewhat on the "Bond" appeal.... but thats just my opinion.

Looks good. However, I would have thought they would want to shoot a dash that isn't filled with scratches.

how the hell do you get a picture posted in your thread instead of it being just a thumbnail at the bottom?

I use image shack.

When you upload the picture, copy the hotlink bar into the reply box on rx8club. Should come up as a picture.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the interior looks ridiculous... look at the stitching on the seats... looks like a chesterfield... and whats with all that suede??

What can I say.....some people are more impatient than others. I never said Astons don't have standard colors and interiors to choose from......only that they offer some personalization that is rare in most automobile offerings less than $250K.

I know that aftermarket customizers can do whatever you want to anything......but it's not the same thing as the Aston or Porsche factory doing it. I was not aware of Porsche offering this......but I'm sure they charge a lot for that personalization which means they are going to be in the same price neighborhood. I seriously doubt that you can take your grandma's favorite house dress to Lotus and they will trim your interior in the same fabric, color & pattern.......but it's possible. Also, I am not talking about a company having a lot of colors.....I am talking about the factory painting your car to their high level of quality in any color you want. If you took a **** that morning and liked the color....they will match your factory Aston to that color.

Well... no not really.... @ Porsche a custom colour interior will run you 7Gs CDN and a custom exterior is around 6Gs CDN. So thats a total of 13Gs if you do both.

A V8 Vantage (a direct competitor to the 911) is anywhere from 60-70Gs over a 911.... not quite the same price range.

But hey, if having a car to match any colour or tree motif to suit a super excentric nature is worth that kind of a premium then I guess it goes back to "to each his own".. .either that or you'd have to get your head examined

I'd take 2 Porsches over an Aston any day of the week and twice on Sunday......but I am not their target market. The people that buy Aston Martins don't give a **** about an extra $70 grand......it's about the badge and history. It's undeniable that Harley Davidson makes inferior bikes to just about every other bike manufacturer......but people pay a premium for the badge and the history.

Where did you get that math?
A 911 Carrera S (the competitor to the V8 Vantage) is base $119,00 CDN MSRP
A V8 Vantage is $135,000 CDN MSRP

How did you get a $70K difference out of that?

BTW, I am obsessed with Aston's.. best looking cars on the planet IMO... I don't care how much they cost.. if I had the money (i.e. Lottery) is buy one the same day.

OK I must have gotten the models mixed up.... I still think its a rip compared to the 911S. Its just a better car... but again thats just my opinion
