Anyone seen the turbo's that replace the muffler?
I saw this show late one night called "guns and gears", crazy louisiana local television, and they were interviewing a guy at his shop where they install turbo's in place of the muffler. I didn't really understand the logistics of it all but they showed it installed on a ford pickup and then raced against a stock pickup and the difference was very noticeable. Anyone seen or heard about these things? It sounds like a pretty good idea besides running extra pipes from the turbo. Since the turbo acts as a muffler it eliminates the need for one. I have never seen or heard of this since but it is an intriguing idea.
the turbo will knock some of the noise off, but it will never replace the muffler
I ran a cat back straight pipe on an FD and it was deifinitely quieter than an RX-8 with a cat-back stright pipe, but by no means anything near being muffler quiet

There's some video clips at ststurbo.com and jlturbo.com. Mostly f-body cars. A couple of GTO vids, and a couple trucks. Doesn't sound any louder than my old Camaro with full exhaust. They have an Integra kit also, but no video that I saw.
