Any experiences with the IS250?

So is the IS350. We had one for 2 years. The car is fast and does have some nice features but it had too many things that we just couldn't stand about it. My main gripe is that the electric power steering would occasionally over heat and shut down, sometimes in mid turn, which the dealer called a "feature" not a problem. I used to park on the 7th floor of a parking structure and it would always shut down around the 6th floor going to full manual steering for that last floor.

He's correct in that it is a "graceful degradation feature", but it shouldn't be overheating in that relatively normal use in the first place!

Is the IS350 electric steering like the RX-8 with an electric motor, or is it simply an electric steering pump like the later Porsches (except the new 991)?
