i heard that 05 is the last year for the rx8.in 06 it will be a rx7 with the same body style as the 8, except 2 door .has anyone else heard this ?

 

^^No. Not gonna happen. they'd have to change way too much and it wouldn't be worth it, most people like the back doors


That picture looks interesting...i'm still deciding whether I like it. It does look a lot like a 3

 

Make it the last year and our car being special. At least it will become a classic easier this way

Define the front a little bit and it should look better. It does look muscular just have the ***** to back it up. Those rims look like they could belong on an Escalade.

 

Where'd you get that pic from--its my first time seeing it--I like it. Its not FD but it looks good--I can look beyond the wheels.

 

Sure that's a 7? Looks more like a concept car for a Mazda 3 based sporty coupe.... Mx6/ Probe replacement.

 

Agree 100%! Only 2 years of production? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense economically for Mazda, but it would be nice for the owners.

That's it exactly. Nice photo Chop though! Nothing would make me happier than having them stop production of the RX8. Then it would be a real collectible in 25 years when my future grandson/daughter takes ownership of it!

Am I the only one that thinks this is a photocop, call me crazy but that sure does look like a scrunched G35c midsection with a spiced up Mazda front added on...

 

That wouldn't be such a bad accusation. The only thing that stops me from believing that is that it looks like it was scanned from a book or magazine. But still doesn't mean it wasn't a chop job. Good Point. Who knows

I haven't heard that either. I did hear that '06 represents the half-life of the RX-8, but I think someone here actually said it, and I can't validate that hearsay.
