This car (Black series based on the SL) was just completed. The spy photos were just published 4-6 months ago. Perhaps you're thinking of the CLK Black series which emerged a while back.

That is a sweet car, it has made the cut as my desktop wallpaper on my work computer. Mostly because I'm a sucker for flared out fenders.
As an added bonus, when you head over to the Autoblog story on the SL65 Black, check out Corvette ZR1's (username) comment, and find his comments on other topics. His posts are so chock full of misguided nonsense that I will never run out of entertainment so long as he keeps posting.
So far I have learned that VWs are girls cars that have no merit whatsoever, real men only drive vehicles (presumably trucks) from Chevy and Dodge, and Corvettes are the best sports cars on the market...in any price range. It goes on and on, it's wonderful.
Based on his writing style and knowledge of the automotive world, I suspect he's 12 - especially since he constantly alludes to being rich. Non-stop fun for the whole family! I hope he keeps posting with such reckless abandon!
