The All American Muscle Car?? Made in Canada

Just watched how the Camaro was built, the whole car is produced in Canada.

Apparently the car is an AMERICAN muscle car because the car was only available to american customers at first.

Just a fun little fact that I thought I'd share, I thought it was an ironic fact.

Yeah, kind of like my uncle who was telling me and my dad he would never drive a Jap truck (referring to my dads Titan built in TN) and that he only buys American made (drives PT cruiser and a dodge ram both of which were built in Mexico). He refuted that but I later emailed him the proof and he said, "oh well at least my money goes to dodge here in the U.S",

My Mother is like that, shes all about chevy... and nothing else will compare, I've owned only mazda's so i cannot say if anything can compare or not to the car cuz i have only ever owned mazda.

92 Mazda 626 EL
97 Mazda 626 SRS EL (4 WD) <--- Check my footwork
92 Mazda RX-7
05 Mazda RX-8

So Im a little biased as far as ownership. I would like to own a Camaro one day but I just bought the 05 and wanna play with it some as far as mods. I suppose i should pay for it too.

What I get out of this is:

He thinks a PT Cruiser is American Muscle.

My dad always said never buy a car car built in Detroit on a Monday.

Actually we have owned good American cars and bad ones as well as bad Japanese cars and good ones. Honestly with three engines the RX8 would actually be the least reliable car I have owned but I love it. But for some reason the family staples have always been Nissans and Honda's.

Yeah

Not that I have a problem with paying a smart, inventive, upward thinking person $20/hr to put together cars. That is too low actually.

I just have a problem paying a lazy selfish unimaginative person $20/hr to put a bolt in a hole, and then $19.75 an hour when he gets laid off, or $20/hr for life when he retires.... and the same amounts for a clone of that person to put the nut on the bolt guy 1 put in the hole, and the same amounts for another clone to put the next bolt in...etc...

Exactly. Not related but my loser deadbeat dad cousin started at $16.00/hr to wave a flag at road construction sites 6 months out of the year but gets paid the whole year (part unemployment or some BS) and meanwhile I can't afford to pay some of my hardworking single mom employee's that much and they bust their asses day in an day out. But from what I heard that is now changing on the East Coast with all the immigrants going that way.

I get people all the time that bitch about how they don't make enough and deserve more but yet they can't come to work on time or do a very good job.

Unions will be the downfall of this country. And the rise of the others, now mexico gets our money because they are cheaper, but 20 years from now, who knows, that money may come back to bite us.

Camaros suck anyway.

damn... talk about being way off topic...

I have no idea where the idea for the camaro came from, the show I was watching only had how it was built and where.

The Camaro is built on the Zeta chassis, originally the basis of the Holden Monaro, which became the Pontiac GTO. It's origins are Australian but it's not really designed there.

Close... yes, the Camaro has a modified, shortened version of the Holden engineered Zeta chassis. It is the Pontiac G8, not the GTO, that is based on the Zeta chassis.

The 04-06 GTO is based on the older V Platform, which is shared with the 2001-2005 third generation Holden Monaro.
