The new Evo is coming very soon. Looks like you made two mistakes in a row, maybe three?
The dealer that gave me the best price (34k) which is right about invoice had only 1 car. There are many people out there who had to pay way over 36k to get their hands on the evo9 MR. I've done many dealing and I don't fall that easily for dealer scam. Besides, I have a friend who works at toyota that tells me all kinds of dealer scam.

I did what I did because I thought it was the best move I could possibly make at the moment, and I still think it was.

I don't like the new look of the evo, and I don't want to wait so long to get my hands on it. I would much prefer messing with 4g63 than something entirely new.

Looks like you made some useless post
and I don't need your dirty oil

comparing 36k evo to 20k srt-4 is just plain insult.

I'm guessing he told you about when they make you wait forever supposedly to get you the best available financing for the vehicle. I don't know how many people here have noticed it but they almost always try to keep you in the dealership for a long time. The point of this little scam is to make you so frustrated with being there that you miss something in the paperwork. It usually works because by the time they come back with the "newly" approved finance rate the buyer just wants to get the hell out of there! I don't even want to get into the down payment thing!

You guys should just buy sport bikes if you like seat of the pants power and good track times. They're chain drive so you'd keep the drivetrtain hp loss down as well. My big1800 VTX V-Twin cruiser does the quarter around 13 sec (12.7sec magazine reviews)and it's considered slow by bike standards. These little sub compact hotrod cars are so whatever. It's all relative

Good point Roaddemon!

Though we set a Funnybike milestone which held for over six years, (the worlds quickest turbo charged motorcycle at 6.82-seconds/199+ MPH), Mr. Turbo is most proud of the milestones set by their 100% street legal, and totally ridable, Kawasaki ZX-11. That bike claimed top speed during a recent Sport Rider Magazine Shootout, of 230 MPH.

But don't become a statistic: http://www.motorcycle-training.f2s.com/bornagain.html

For me I prefer a fast car because of a few things! I like to have an enclosure for sudden weather changes. I like having the stereo. I like being able to take multiple friends along on a ride if possible. Even though it's still dependant on the car and place I like to have the convenience of all season driving. I like the heat available in the car instead of packing on the clothing.

I actually really have nothing against bikes and would consider getting one sometime down the road but I can't do it right now.

btw, I have a friend who had one of these.

Do you get made fun of for riding your wannabe Harley Honda? Want to race my old snowmobile or shifterkart, because they will outrun your bike in the 1/4 mile, outhandle your bike, and they're about as practical as your motorcycle for my purposes. I have at least 2 cases of wine with me on any given day, that isn't happening with a motorcycle. I also would like to drive something that's fast and fun every day of the year, not to mention safe. Motorcycles in Milwaukee are so whatever.

Do the Evo IX RS's put down similar power as the MR's, or do the MR's have some super slick trick up their sleeves?

The same, and they're lighter so the RS is usally a tick faster.

There is no way these things run high 12s STOCK. IkeWRX is full of it, he is a beotch.

What a horribly misinformed and pretentious post. The first three sentences are such a waste of web space I won't even dignify them with an intelligent response.

On what planet is a 16mpg RX-8 with an oil eating rotary and suicide doors a better family car than an all weather 4 door with a big trunk and 30mpg.

If you are referring to the Evo, ill have to disagree. The Evo is not for families even if it has all those things. The ride is just too harsh. The 8 is much more soft, has a very linear power delivery.

I have yet to see a RX-8 run better than 15.1, does that mean it's not possible?

That's what I didnt' like about 8.
The power curve was too linear and it gets boring after a while.
Surge of power after 3k rpm is just pure nice.

That's the first time I've seen anybody say those kind of things about an Evo. The only other 4 door family car I think it compares to is the STi. What other 4 door family car are you referring to that can do the 200 foot skidpad at .94g while hurdling through a 700-foot slalom at 72 mph?

The Evo IX is a step above the Evo VIII in terms of huge performance gains for very little modding money. (Addition of MIVEC and larger turbo compressor housing)

Fact is, Evo IX's with just a reflash ARE running high 12's.

A cat back, and a proper reflash will get you 35-50 Wheel hp for chump change...

It's only a matter of time before a stock Evo IX pulls high 12's; they are making something closer to 315 hp at the crank than the 286 hp they're rated at...
