Advice from Rx8 owners. 370Z 2010 New

Hi Guys,

I'm interested in buying a new 2010 370Z, Base model, manual transmission.
$31,265.00

When I purchased my 2006 RX8 back in 2006, I got it for 26,500.00 (This was approximately 6000.00 off MSRP).

I was curious to know what kind price that I'd be realistically paying for a new 2010 370Z.

If you guys have any advice, please let me know. There are 2 of them at 2 different dealerships nearby my house.

Thanks a million.

Don't pay more than invoice. I was looking into a z a couple of months ago and was already getting quotes around 500 below invoice...but that's in the seasonal state of Wisconsin. If you are down south, you'll probably be paying a liitle more but I still wouldn't pay a penny over invoice. There are a lot of dealers that still have '09s left.

If you are gonna track the car, you should check out some of the overheat issues that some owners are having with the engine.

Take the amount you would pay for the car, deduct it by at least 3,000, offer it to the salesman and his "manager".

Also, make sure you get it with the sports package. Open Diff without it

Check out truecar.com

Looks like people are paying about 2500 off MSRP at average.

The R3 is very nice, but I don't know if that's what I'd go immediately after another 8. There's just not quite enough of a difference between the R3/series 2 to really justify it to me. It's a great car and I still love it, but I'm looking at moving on myself. If he's looking for something that's different, the R3 is probably not the car for him. The 370z is a completely different car, and better overall. The only reason I would have issues with getting the 370z is for track use with the brake and heating issues. For street purposes, it shouldn't be an issue. Not sure if the OP is even looking to hear other opinions... just pricing info.

Now if only Mazda could put the performance of the 370Z into the R3 body style...I'd be in heaven.

I drove the 370Z this past weekend and was not impressed. It is pretty much a two seat car. There is a small shelf behind the front seats where the Rx8 has 2 massive seats. It was also really loud, even at slow speeds. Wind noise and tyre noise filled the cabin, much much louder than the Rx8, I dont think you could talk on your phone at highway speeds.
It handled really well and has lots of power though...
