Acura RDX going to have first Honda turbo

Either the April Motor Trend or Automobile announced that the new Acura RDX will have a turbocharged 2.0 inline 4 producing 260 HP and 260 lb-ft torque.

I think they said it was going to be a 2.2 liter turbo. Either way, I highly doubt that it will happen. It would be neat to see Honda throw a turbo in the line up, but I just don't see why they would really do that. I guess time will tell.

Ha! It'll be a matter of time before someone swaps that into their CRX or Integra. Woohoo!

This might be Honda's way of introducing a turbo into their linup and I wouldn't be too surprised to see some variation of this engine/turbo combination show up in one of their cars.

That's not Honda's first turbo vehicle or turbo street vehicle, there's always the Honda City Turbo.

I was at an Acura dealer yesterday and they had one. This is one of the most hideous vehicles i have ever seen. It's almost Aztek level ugly. In pictures it never struck me as being that bad, but it was a different story in person. Then i saw the sticker and burst out laughing. The thing is smaller, and yet more expensive than an MDX. I think it was something like $47k. Interior didn't seem like anything special either. I really think this thing is going to tank.

Stating At $32,995, 240 Hp, 260 Torque, 2.3 Liter I-vtec Four Turbo Engine And Super Handling All-wheel Drive And Aculink With Real-time Traffic Up Dates, And It Looks Very Very Nice. But The Mazda Cx7 Looks Better For Me. I'm Getting One Or The Other For My Wife. Will See What Happens.HERE IS MORE INF:

The generously equipped RDX carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $32,995 and is only available with a single factory option -- the Technology Package. The RDX with Technology Package, priced at $36,495, enhances the driving experience by adding a 10-speaker, 410-watt, Acura/ELS Surround(R) Premium Sound System designed by legendary recording engineer Elliot Scheiner to create an unmatched listening experience. In addition, the Technology Package includes the Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition(TM), HandsFreeLink(TM) wireless telephone interface, AcuraLink(TM) Satellite Communication System with Real Time Traffic and a rearview camera.

Are you sure it wasn't $37K? That would put it topped out just above where MDX starts. True though, we are leaning toward the CX7.

I probably miffed the price a little bit, it was definately in the 40s though. It had extra stuff on it though other than just the tech package, including a dealer markup. Still a rediculous amount of money for that car. Isn't it based on the CRV, which is based on the Civic? That's an expensive Civic.

The old CR-V was based on the defunct Civic Wagon (I think).

The CR-V is getting updated this year also, and will look similar to the RDX I guess.

Anywhere North of 35K Loaded is way too much for this car.
