Well--you are certainly welcome to the board. I probably would have gotten the Z myself if I wasn't a previous rotary owner and I didn't want the back seat--compared to the RX8 the 350Zs ride is harsher; but that doesn't matter to me cause I use to have a 93 RX7 (anything is softer than that in terms of ride comfort). I agree with you as well--the 35th Anniv. is not worth the extra money.

Maybe Nissan should've put more thought into bringing out a 35th Ann. Z car than giving it 13 extra horsepower, painting it yellow, and adding more weight. Personally, I would've blown the bitch, but the 90's are over.

I have a 300zx and enjoy the car...a little bit to heavy of a feel. I intially looked at a 350Z but was not happy when it had no back seats......so we went with the RX-8. I have two boys and the back seats are a must.

I have to giggle when the car is actually slower to 60 mph despite a horsepower boost for their special edition. Sure, 0-60 isn't anything, but that's what Joe Schmoe will look at. I'm surprised Nissan made the move to decrease torque down low for a little power up top if it adversely effected their 0-60 times.

well actually the 35th anniversary is not only slower on the 0-60 bc of the torque but bc of the wheels etc. I actually own a 350z, was lookin at the rx8 but i hated the mazda dealer here and i didnt like the ride. Not to mock your cars theyre definately nice cars but i wanted a real sports car which is what the z is. That is why it has the rougher ride etc. It like any sports car is more concerned with handling and speed than the bumps in the road. Ive had absolutely no problem with my 350 and i like the power on it. that was my only complaint about the rx8 was it didnt have as much umph for lack of a better word when taking off. The z does have some problems like other cars. ive heard 0-60 for the lightest of the z models being around 5.3ish. the lower torque and the added weight slow down the 35th anniversary edition. yes it does look like a porsche but were not talkin same price range so when buying it i couldnt say ill take a porsche instead. lol i certainly wouldve looked at porsche if i couldve. The z actually has very similar times to the new slk. im new to this board and it seems pretty cool. no one really flames about a car thats not theirs. thanks and sorry for the logn post

Welcome to the club absinftl--The new SLKs are nice--but also more pricey; this board has a few knuckleheads but overall you don't see alot of talking down. On here you'll find more autocrossers than 0-60 racers due to the nature of the RX8.

yeah i liked the handling when i looked at the rx8 and its definately its strength but insurance was higher than on my z so it wasnt really in the budget for me either. plus im a sucker for raw speed off the line. lol thanks for bin cool.
