I absolutely LOVE the look of the 300ZX. I would only opt for the TT model but thats just personal preference. Go for it, sounds like great deal.

Go for it I was trying to find a good conditioned Z32 with the Vg30dett for the longest time before i ended up just saving up long enough and buying an 8. Those cars if found in good condition seem to last forever if you go searching for them on places like autotrader you always find a decent amount with 200k plus miles whereas most cars seem to start to disappear around 130k (F-Bodies) I mean there will always be exceptions in both directions but those 300z's are cool. Don't count on doing anything Forced induction on it though. Those only sold 2+2's with forced induction in other markets so there is no direct TT swap for you car. The 2+2's also have less head room. And I think, but don't quote me on this are a few inches wider. One of them is wider then the other, and one looses head room and i'm pretty sure it's the 2+2. I dano i spent a lot of time researching them and would really say go for a good deal like that. Here are some links i still have saved from when i was looking into them.

Don't be scared to do your own maitnance , it looks overwhelming at first , but the vg30 is easy to work on for regualr maitnance. If you have to change belts , you would want to remove the fan shroud, once that is removed, you will have more than enough room to work on the front belts. CAUTION! You must change the timing belt , cam pullies ,gaskets, water pump, thermostat all at 60k miles! If you don't ....kiss the motor goodbye. The timing belt change is a feat , i had a professional do it, if you buy all the parts labor should not cost you more than 1000 bucks no less than 700. Other than that enjoy a timeless sports car and get use to compliments and stares wherever you go! Enjoy the ride!:) |
