2021 IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Season Discussion
Great race coming back from almost 3 laps down. Hope this car gets to join the red Sebring winner in the company museum.
Even the championship race happening behind was down to the wire. Taylor saw his last opportunity and sent it!

What a finish!! Great way to end the program. Sad it’s the last one! Interesting shenanigans with the 31 and 10 as well.
I hope to see Mazda back in top tier road racing in a few years!

I was glued to the race for at least 8 of the 10 hours. What a bittersweet "swansong".
Figured it's a must to chime in and follow up with the crew on this thread.
We know Multimatic is tapped for Porsche and Audi's upcoming LMDH cars, but is Multimatic bringing along Leena Gade?
It was confirmed that Leena Gade and her sister Teena Gade will be with Multimatic for McLaren's Extreme E platform.

Great to see Mazda exit with a win and an overall successful season. I drove Road Atlanta in July this year and enjoyed the race even more, nowt that I have 6 hours experience on it. The MX-5 races were pretty awesome too!

awesome video and again what an epic way to end the program.
For me the highlight was the Long Beach Grand Prix in 2019, getting to be in the paddock with the drivers and spending time talking with all the engineers about race strategy, things they were dealing with and their expectations for the race. Such a welcoming group.
Then a few hours later Bomarito wrecks during qualifying and to see them go to WORK to replace the tub was incredible.
Doonan was still running the program at the time so he jetted out to go pick up In-N-Out burgers for the whole team because he knew it would take an all nighter and probably a miracle to get the car ready for the race and he later told me he knew they'd get it done. why? because his order # at In-N-Out was #55.
Gonna miss seeing Mazda on the grid next year but I'm hoping they do come back with an LMDh in the near future.

Is anyone following this season's race?
The "Historic" IMSA GTP Challenge will be at Long Beach Saturday April 9th and April 10th. Mazda is bringing the 792P, #202 76B, and the #56 787.

I've seen some post about it. I'm usually a week behind on some of the races as I'm actually staying up to date through Peacock and the app. I wonder if the historic race will be aired on the IMSA app or Peacock...
