oh and do you like your gto better than the rx-8. I was looking into one and ultimately decided on the 8 for price reasons

Yes, they are two very different cars and each has their finer points. I've owned my GTO longer than my 8, if that tells you anything. I wanted a GT four seater sports car I could drive every day with a bunch of horsepower and a warranty. Camaro fits this market also.

I've been watching the Camaro for quite some time as well. It's cool to see all the conveniences and options this thing has. No wonder it weighs even more than a GTO.

In the "Accessories" video, they show some pretty good looking optional 21" black wheels with polished rims.

Wow, the customer knew what Direct Injection was! 99% of the time, they don't know what a clutch pedal is.

Yea its surely a beast all around. Im sure it will have much better handling characteristics than that of those other fat terds in its class (ie.Charger,Challenger..). Im not a big fan of larger cars like this but damn, saying you dont like this Camaro is bordering on un-American. From what i have seen, i love it.

Camaro Ruelzah!!!!!

And, yes, mscamp02, if I get a Camaro, I would get the LS3 for sure.
The V6 isnt going to suck, but for a few extra bucks, you're going to get something you can really build on if you want to go stupid fast.

I like stupid fast.

That car is also $105,000. It should kill all! Lol! Although they are supposed to release the Z/28 in 2011 and its gonna have the LSA engine puttin out 560hp. Put headers and intake on that and youve got ZR-1 numbers!!

Your right about the numbers, however u still have the all CF body, the suspension/handling, its probably wider,
LS9 supercharged 6.2L V-8 targeted at producing at least 100 horsepower per liter, or 620 horsepower (462 kW), and approximately 595 lb.-ft. of torque (823 Nm)
Six-speed, close-ratio, race-hardened manual transmission
New, high-capacity dual-disc clutch
Higher-capacity and specific-diameter axle half-shafts; enhanced torque tube
Specific suspension tuning provides more than 1g cornering grip
Twenty-spoke 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels
Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires - P285/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in the rear - developed specifically for the ZR1
Standard carbon-ceramic, drilled disc brake rotors - 15.5-inch-diameter (394-mm) in the front and 15-inch-diameter (380-mm) in the rear
Larger brake calipers with substantially increased pad area
Standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control with track-level suspension
Wider, carbon-fiber front fenders with ZR1-specific dual vents
Carbon-fiber hood with a raised, polycarbonate window - offering a view of the intercooler below it
Carbon-fiber roof panel, roof bow, front fascia splitter and rocker moldings with clear-coated, exposed carbon-fiber weave
ZR1-specific full-width rear spoiler with raised outboard sections
Specific gauge cluster with boost gauge (also displayed on the head-up display) and 220-mph (370 km/h) speedometer readout
Only two options: chrome wheels and a “luxury” package
Curb weight of approximately 3,350 pounds (1,519 kg)
Boost gauge added to the instrument cluster and Head-Up Display

***Worth the money and at the end of it you dont void Warranty!*** Cmon 10 sec runs! Jesus Christ. Did you not see the Jay Leno Video?

Where's that Command button that would instantly change the Camaro into a 3-storey tall robot?

Oh trust me man, I am in no way bad mouthing the ZR-1, its a beautiful car, and if I was fortunate enough to have money, I would have one. I saw the very first one at Barrett Jackson last year. I was just saying I think GM is putting something out there that with a few minor aftermarket parts could run with a ZR-1. Camaros have always had hand me down engines from the Vette. This is the first time an engine skips the Vette and goes straight to the Camaro, excluding the 302 in the first gen Zs. Should be awesome!

I don't think the interior is going to be that bad, but I'll reserve judgement until after I sit in one. At least I'll know about all the bells and whistles from the videos, and not need to have a sales person tell me anything.

People are seeing these things on the road now. I can't wait until that happens to me.

I think it will really stand out because of the styling. I saw a couple of 370Z's to date, and if hadn't been for the fangs in the front, I don't think I would have been able to recognize it from a 350Z at a distance.

The Camaro won't be that way.
