2010 Acura NSX
2010 Acura NSX
Just got some more information and a pictures of the new 2010 Acura NSX. I'm not a big fan of the front end of the car, but it might possibly grow on me. IMO, I would definitely take this over the GTR V-spec though because potential that this car has.

I also hope the Lexus LF-A has something up it's sleeve because this car is going to steal a little bit of it's thunder. 600 bhp V10 Acura NSX $160,000 or a 550 bhp V10 Lexus LF-A $225,000. Which one would you take.
That is true, I do like the looks of the Lexus more than I do the Acura, but it has to be truly special to be $65,000 more than the NSX. Also the Lexus convertible will be even more than that.
both should end up out performing the GT-R!
They were both supposed to come out a lot earlier, then the GT-R sent them back to the drawing board. Now the NSX replacement is going AWD too, with even more power. I'm looking forward to this and the LFA
potential wise, i highly doubt NA V10s can have the same moding potential as tt V6 though.

Curious about how this car will turn out but would have liked to see a more advanced evolution of the NSX's excellent mid-engine chassis instead of a totally different layout. I'm sure this car will be good but at that price, perhaps there is still room for a sub $100k simple, light weight, mid engine NSX replacement.
If Honda is smart and plays their cards right, they will easly knock the GT-R out of the spotlight, at least long-term. Someone earlier mentioned the tuning potential of a NA V10 vs. Twin Turbo V6 but Nissan has the GT-R so locked down that none of the japanese tuners have even been able to do anything that impressive with the engine yet and it's been out for months in Japan. If Honda keeps the NSX open to being tuned and tinkered with, I think the car will have alot more impact with actual car guys in the end because you'll be able to make the car your own.
Oh and please keep in mind those photos aren't the actual car, those are just "digital renderings" of what they think it'll look like.

I heard a rumor that Acura may be in the process of making a sub $100k sports car similar to the Honda S2000, but that was just a rumor though.
I view Acura as a modest price luxury brand, but to pay $160,000 for one is a little steep to me.

it wasnt years after the MKIV supra was out before all the big gain mods came out. It takes time, the ECU chips are already showing 50+whp gains. The stock boost only tops out at 10psi, its common sense that theres plenty of room to increase it. Factory Turbo cars are easier to tune period. NA V10s are tuned to the max from the factory theres not much room for bolt ons to add big gains, just look at BMW's V10.
The new Acura won't need any tunning to be at the top of the automotive world, I'm looking forward to the type R which will most likely own the track. The current type R nsx is still one of the favorite japanese sports cars by the pro drivers on BMI

I'm not crazy about the looks of the GT-R, but this is SO much worse.
160K Acura???? !!!!!!
They must be smoking some good weed.... you would think they would have learn from there past with there super slow selling NSX that went for 90k. Barely moved off the lot after the mid 90's , especially when there were a handful of cars that could eclipse it in performance for alot less cash.
Like the 90's,fast forward now, people with that type of cash will not pay 160k for a non luxury/exotic name plate.I hope there replacement NSX is very low volume car for the masses. For a 160k , your in Porsche 911 twin turbo ,Aston Marton DB-9 ,Mercedes SL63 territory. All of which are distinguished badges with a well respected history by all. Can't say the same for Acura.....
