2008 BMW M3 Pricing Announced...

http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...3-pricing.html

No surprise: 414 hp will cost you a pretty penny. BMW announced today that the M3 sedan will start at $54,575, while the coupe runs $57,275. Both cars hit dealerships in March. It wasn't immediately clear whether the prices included destination charge — two BMW spokesmen have yet to return our emails — but the prices reflect a premium of around $16,000 over the 300-hp 335i.

The mid-50s price falls close to at least one competitor, the $56,000 Lexus IS-F. The Mercedes C63 AMG and Cadillac CTS-V have not yet been priced. The current Audi RS 4 costs an eye-watering $66,910, but it's based on the outgoing A4. Is 55 large too much for the M? Weigh in below.

Seems reasonable, though it's probably bare bones. I would think all optioned out it would be pushing 70k.

I think BMW is also targeting the Porsche Cayman S buyers. M3 will be faster and more powerful, more standard equipment than the Cayman S for a lower price.

If you want it delivered fully painted don't forget to add at least $3000; ok, that's probably for "metallic" . Want Xenons? Figure $900+. Heated seats? Well, you need the Cold Weather Package, of course - and in order to get that you need to check the Sunroof option, and the overpriced Sound System box, too. The way they'll come off the truck onto dealer lots will be nowhere near these base $s. Euro luxury car makers and their loonie pricing

cheaper than I thought, the sedan is cheaper than the Lexus ISF sedan (56k), very competitively priced

The price of the M3 coupe and sedan is kind of what I expected. They're going to compete straight up with the porshes and the cadillac. The option prices will be alittle steep though.
