So, I got to ride in one last night....and by the time I got back in my car it felt like a 4x4! Those things pull so ******* hard it's ridiculous...and if they weren't going for 40k+ used I would trade in the 8 in a heartbeat lol! A truly incredible car!

My dad's got a cammed 06 C6 Z and yeah there's nothing quite like it. 650 bhp from a pushrod engine is just brutal. No DOHC quad valve/cam crap in the way, its just press gas, crush spleen. He took it to 180 the other day on the autobahn and said it still had plenty left. He has no doubt it'll exceed 200 mph. I love the Top Gear fanboys who say it handles like crap too and bring up cars like the GT-R and Lotus. 2 words: Dry sump. End of argument.
$40K is a steal for a Z. Brand new they are $75K+. Dad picked up his with 8K miles for $45K, put $5K into a bigger cam, long tubes, CAI, high-flow cats, cat-back, tune, and everything installed. Put down 539 rwhp. Keep in mind that most LS engines "wake up" after 10K miles once everything is broken in. So he's got ZR1 performance for half the price. Corvette's are very desirable in Germany (his would sell for about $90K). He's thinking about selling his and buying an 08 Z (better interior and tech) and doing the exact same mods but I'm trying to get him into a ZR1

BTW C5 Z's go for $25K-$30K if thats more of your budget, and will still rape the living $@%# out of 95% of anything you'll see on the street. My uncle has a SICK C5 Z (440 ci stroker with full forged rotating assembly built for $14K). Plus the benefit of owning a vette are the clubs. There are meetings all the time pretty much no matter where you live sometimes up to once a week. And the annual wild flower run in Texas is amazing. 50+ Corvette's show up (everything from bone stock to twin turbo, blown, nitrous injected, massive cams, etc) and drive for hours and hours at over 100 mph. Its insanely fun.

I love the C6 Z's and the C5 Z's are pretty bad *** as well. Next month I'm driving down to Peoria to go to an all corvette car show. There's supposed to be around 200 of them. I'm pretty stoked.
