You can get the same performance with better looks and (I believe) a cheaper price if you buy the new Corvette instead.......

yeah i agree with you on the agressiveness of the evo...something about a big FMIC staring at you...makes some people think twice about running ya! it was just to boxy though. i liked the spoiler and the hood, but i guess it was the curves and interior that ultimately put the RX-8 on top for me.

While I agree about not being willing to pay 85k for an Evo, I'd still take the FQ330 or FQ400 over a C6 or C5. I also think on your average track either of those models would beat the Vette by a pretty decent margin, and you can drive the Evo year round :D

I'd take the C6 over the EVO anyday, especailly if I had 85,000 to throw at it, if not, the EVO would probably be the better deal, but if I had 85,000 to throw away and those were my only two choices, the bowtie would win for me. Just think of how much you could do to a C6 with an extra 30-35 grand just for mods?

FQ400 very sweet IMO. 3year 36,000 mile warranty as well (from various mags I read).

As for the MSM...im sorry but C&D cannot drive if they can't get a mid 14 out of it. People with MSP's have run 15.1's stock. The MSM is 300-400lbs light with rwd. Shelly, come on.

Viper owners may tend to disagree...

If I've got 85k to blow on cars Supra TT with 10-20k in mods and Lotus Elise here I come. Probably about the most moddable car out there in the Supra TT, and still damn pretty I might add, it's an excellent GT, highway cruiser, I'll blow the doors off anything type car. Then the Elise is light, nimble, fast, and an incredible track car. What more could someone want (screw luxury)

Keep in mind they're only making 100 of these cars, they won't have a problem selling them and Mitsubishi could care less if any of us would drop 85k on the car. It's a wolf in sheeps clothing for someone that has too much moeny and doesn't want to mess around with mods and just get the car all setup straight from Mitsubishi.

I dunno.

400hp, 400ft-lb of torque, 0-60 in 4.2seconds and the car now weighs 3,179 lbs. WOW! The starting price is only $44, 245!

That's lamborghini power (don't know about handling, but 3,179lbs is NICE) for ~$45K

really if you think about it, you could build a wolf in sheeps cothing for about 15-20 grand, why spend 85 on a factory timebomb? seems like a waste to me

hmm...for $85,000 not sure--probably a used 04 E55. Or I could get a 3rd Gen--put 15K in it and then buy something more pedestrian--maybe a S-Type R or 300 SRT-8--hard decisions. Or just get a 911.

The car would NOT be $85,000 US dollars. If you compare ratios of the FQ-400 to UK equivavalents of the US Evos (or the closest models, which is the case) and apply it to the US MSRP, the car would be about $60,000 in the US. The pricing of US cars is usually less than the exchange rate of the UK MSRP. At $60,000, you are in M3 pricing territory, with a ton more performance. It is true that you can mod a cheaper version of the EVO and get more bang for the buck (Vishnu Evo at the supertuner shootout was about $58,000 for example), but you will have a waranty and few, if any tuning/modding "problems" to deal with that are inherent in that game.

Someone that drives an RX-8 car probably shouldn't be calling a proven reliable powerplant a timebomb

Looks pretty awesome to me!! 85K is a lot though.....im thinking maybe an elise as well. Also for all those saying buy an Lancer and dump money into it......thats pretty retarded. If you think thats all mitsubishi is doing, then you dont really appreciate it. The Mazdaspeed Protege had several problems as it was only really a "kit car" built from a parts box....Were talking about this lancer have almost triple the power of a base one.....not an extra 40hp.....I love mazda....but this is a pretty awesome car that has to be given its due credit......but granted, if mazda built an $85K 4th Gen RX-7, it would be ALOT better then the Lancer, STI, elise, 911.....anything....

No one said base Lancer, we said Evo. As for the RX- comment I'll just give that a big
