I think I'm all for getting an r6, except I can't afford to get into any more debt. Well, I suppose theres no use in complaining. What's gonna happen is gonna happen. If the price of gas goes up we'll just have to pay it.

What else are ou going to do. Eventually they'll find a solution and when it comes around we'll know, and we can do something about it then. But until then we really don't have a choice. There is obviously not a definite solution found yet, so I'm just gonna wait and see what happens. :D

What I was getting at with this thread is...much like the Hemi Cuda and other monster cars of the 60's and 70's, are we reaching the peak of performance cars before economy driven factors force us to start buying econoboxes again. Is today's Toyota Prius simlar to the 1970's compact that helped turn the great Mustang Boss 429 into the econoturd Mustang II? Are today's performance cars at their peak like they were in 1970?

I don't think so. Before the EPA manufacturers accomplished big numbers with cubic inches. Once the smog laws kicked in it set a precedent though. Within that framework and over the last 30 years we've seen some incredibly efficient and reliable engines pumping out lots of power, sipping gas, and emitting very little smog. Smog laws aren't getting any more relaxed either. They're getting stricter yet engine technologies continue to improve.

well it doesn't work. it's basically the whole extract electricity from a permanent magnet idea. Kinda nifty looking though.
