Grats on the car, the g37 is sooo much better than the g35, I used to hate the droning in that car, but they got rid of it(more or less). But seriously, a car like that I would expect it to be better if you know what I mean!
Power is pretty awesome and the sound ain't bad either, but the only bad thing I will say about the g37, I know it's a luxury sports car... but its a bit too heavy, which makes everything worse from what Jeremy Clarkson said (all his opinions are right XD) but I would take it over this car if it was offered for the awesome price of 14k used. Gotta love the rx-8 resale value.
Good thing you posted here and not some other club, s2000 or Civic club, we are much more civilized and don't think about pure handling.

Saw one at the auto show , the interior was a bit to crowded for me , more like a spaceship.
Plus the price was something like 42,000 , not for that . We kind of liked the 370 better ....
Now you go on and enjoy the car , its all that matters....................

g37 is a nice car. MUCH better than the g35, in all ways i think. but, g35/g37 are NOT in the same class as the 8...the Z is, infiniti is not. sorry. it's nissan's luxury division, of course the fit-and-finish in the g37 is nicer, that's what an infiniti is!! the fact that mazda even comes close should tell you how nice the 8 really is.
oh, and don't say mazda "backed out of the competition" or however you put it...that's just not true. rotary takes longer to develop. to think mazda won't put out a new car that will compete is just silly.
anyway...nice car, if i was in the market for a car of that level, i'd take a 3 series, but i'd give the g a long look...the lines on the g37 are really nice. pics would be good!

RX-8 beats the lighter smaller G35 back then and it will certainly kick the heavier fatter g37 in the nuts for sports car prowess.

I don;t even think the G-coupe is now considered a car with a sports car experience qualities anymore. I've not seen it in any sports car comparison lately. Certainly not in that annual Motortrend best handling comparo. If I didn't want a car that would telepathically communicate the road feel to me, the Infiniti would be great. But I like communication and i don't mean integrated Bluetooth or SD card slots.

sorry for any typos lol i was in a rush to finish some work. And to Yax, exactly how is 330 bhp with 28 highway milage underpowered? No 8 NA has come remotely close to that lol... I got the two door AWD version in a 6 speed. $38k out the door. Having the car just makes me feel so bad that Mazda hasn't made more of an effort

if you trade in your 8 it means you want a new car and has nothing to do with you not being a rotary fan. I love rotaries and I would still trade in when I grow tired of the 8 or something new comes that I can afford and I really like.

The problem with comparing the RX-8 to the G is that in some ways, it is like the G - back seat - but in other ways, the RX-8 is more like the Z - sporting intentions as opposed to luxury.
To Nissan's credit, they made both the G and the Z better in their own repsective markets. The G35 wasn't a killer luxury sport coupe, but the 37 seems to have nailed it. Likewise with the Z from a sports car persective.
The reason the RX-8 hasn't changed much is because it was brilliant right out of the box - it hit it's design target fair and square. Of course, it's really down on power now compared to the Z/G. Hopefully Mazda will release the 16X.
Congrats on the G37. I think they are beautiful and if I wasn't so focused on autocross (and in the market for a new car) I'd seriously consider one. But I'd probably buy a Z instead.

I dont know about USA but in Canada the price difference between the two is anywhere from 12 to 15k . I sure hope for 15k it beats the Rx8 in any way possible, which it doesnt.

Hey guys sorry I havent responded in a few days. As for the pics, I will get them up in a day or two. My camera has been on the fritz, getting a new one on tuesday I believe. To those who are open minded, and can at least respect that I merely posted observations between the two cars side by side, I appreciate it. For those of you who cannot stand to hear that the 8 isn't the end all be all perfect car, that is the kind of attitude that hurts forums, and the car enthusiast community as a whole. I will post pics up, but beyond that, I am done arguing the point.
