For nimble and fast, it's powered by the latest version of Aston Martin's 6.0-liter/441-hp V-12 (developed from the engine found in the Vanquish), the DB9 promises a top speed of 186 mph and 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds. Two transmissions are offered: a six-speed ZF automatic paddle-shifter and a conventional six-speed manual gearbox.

The all-aluminum, 2+2 coupe draws its numerical name from the nearly six-liter V-12 engine. This lightweight engine produces 540 horsepower -- 100-hp more than the 456M. Matched with a six-speed manual gearbox or new-generation clutchless manual (shifted by F1-type paddle triggers), the engine propels the sleek Italian from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and achieves a 195-mph top speed.

2005 Lexus RX 400h
http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...lex_400h_z.jpg
Lexus unveiled the production RX 400h luxury sport/utility vehicle, emerging as the first automaker to prove hybrid vehicles can be about more than near-zero emissions and high fuel economy.
The electric-enhanced V-6-based powertrain will produce approximately 270 horsepower, a full 40 horses more than the RX 330. Insiders confide that it is the torque that really impresses, giving the 400h the pull of a V-8.

2006 Lexus GS
http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...t_lex_gs_z.jpg
This new GS demonstrates the more dramatic exterior and interior styling that will be reflected in future Lexus products. More specifically, it shows the next GS will have a two-inch longer wheelbase and measure a half longer overall. Powerplant choices will include an all-new 245-hp V-6 and a 4.3-liter V-8, each paired with an all-new close-ratio, sequential six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. The V-6 models will be offered in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configuration, though V-8 cars will be strictly rear-drivers. The GS will be offered with Vehicle Dynamic Management, a stability enhancement system designed to anticipate handling problems.

Chrysler ME Four-Twelve
http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...chrys_me_z.jpg
Chrysler execs were beaming as they unveiled the company's first-ever mid-engined super car. Conceived as a follow-up to last year's Viper-powered Tomahawk motorcycle, the ME took less than a year to create, from concept to functional show car. The name comes from the powertrain, a quad-turbo V-12 developed by Mercedes' performance arm, AMG. The 6.0-liter engine produces 850 hp @ 5750 rpm and 850 lb-ft of torque, translating to 142 hp per liter. This massive Hemi-embarrassing output is managed by a seven-speed Ricardo double-clutch transmission developed specifically for this car. Weighing just 2880 lbs, the carbon-fiber-bodied ME Four-Twelve reportedly can go 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and blaze the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds at 142.0 mph. Calculated top speed is 248 mph.

http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...honda_t_zx.jpg
The unibody truck has seating for five, along with a five-foot cargo bed for toys like ATVs. The SUT is powered by a VTEC V-6, with output estimated to be in the 240- to 260-horsepower range. Ride and handling are aided by a fully independent suspension. On the safety front, the SUT concept features vehicle stability assist, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, and four-wheel ABS. Bed bonus points awarded for exterior speakers. SUT production at the Alliston, Ontario, plant will begin in 2005.

Mazda MX-Micro Sport
http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...t_maz_mx_z.jpg
The MX-Micro Sport is 19.9 inches shorter than the Mazda 3 wagon, yet it is nearly as wide and 3.3 inches taller. Consequently, the MX-Micro Sport provides a surprisingly workable interior for four passengers despite its length. The luggage compartment comes equipped with a detachable partition for flexible stowage arrangements, allowing below-floor storage or cargo cover. The MX-Micro Sport concept features a MacPherson-type front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension tuned to provide the lively driving response. Couple with a 2.0-liter/148-hp four-cylinder engine, the mechanicals promise quite an entertaining ride.

2004 BMW 645Ci Convertible
http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...bmw_6con_z.jpg
Elegant design, high-tech features, and athletic performance combine to put BMW's new 6 Series Convertible on the wish list of all who desire the ultimate in open-air driving. Powered by BMW's top-of-the-range 4.4-liter/326-hp 8-cylinder 645Ci bi-VANOS engine and shifted via one of three six-speed transmissions (including BMW's Formula 1, paddle-style SMG Sequential Manual Gearbox) the 6 Series Convertible promises 0-62-mph acceleration just tenths above six seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.The 645Ci Convertible will retail for $76,995 when it goes on sale on March 26th.

2005 Ford Five Hundred
http://www.trucktrend.com/motor/auto...ford_500_z.jpg
While the silhouette reveals design chief J Mays' experience with Volkswagen, it also shows that Ford is preparing to launch a car that will be a stronger global player than the Taurus it will ultimately replace. Ford applies the term "crossover" to the Five Hundred to describe its class-leading interior space, command-like seating position, large trunk, and available all-wheel drive. The 3.0-liter Duratec V-6 engine can be paired with a new six-speed automatic or continuously variable transmission. Destined to become the brand's sedan flagship, the Five Hundred promises a more sophisticated package than either the Taurus or Crown Vic when it goes on sale in the fall.

2004 Kia Spectra
http://www.thecarconnection.com/imag...7649_image.jpg
Kia's new-generation Spectra four-door compact gets a longer wheelbase, a wider track and more horsepower, as well as six airbags with full-length side-curtain airbags, and four-wheel disc brakes for its 2004 reinvention. Its new platform gives the Spectra a longer wheelbase and more interior room (97 cubic feet) and trunk room (12.2 cubic feet) than in the last version. A new 2.0-liter DOHC engine incorporates continuously variable valve timing, and makes 138 hp and 135 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual is standard, an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission is optional. The Spectra LX has standard AM/FM/CD audio, tinted glass, and a rear window defroster; the EX adds air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, heated power outside mirrors and front fog lights. in showrooms in late spring.

Audi A8L W-12
http://caranddriver.com/assets/image/l_142004222526.jpg
With both BMW and Mercedes offering V-12-powered flagship sedans, it was only a matter of time until Audi joined the fray. The long-wheelbase 12-cylinder A8L is the first vehicle with the new-style nose that will filter through the rest of Audi’s models in the years to come. This version of the A8L uses a 6.0-liter W-12 engine that produces 444 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. It’s coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 12-cylinder model also gets loads of standard equipment and uses new LED daytime running lamps. It goes on sale in Europe this month for about $138,000. But it won’t be available to U.S. drivers until 2005. This fall though, Audi will begin exporting a short-wheelbase version of the A8 to America.

Land Rover Range Stormer
http://caranddriver.com/assets/image/l_172004175338.jpg
Land Rover made history in Detroit, unveiling its first ever concept vehicle, the Range Stormer. Designed as a high-performance “sports tourer”—in the same vein as a BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne—the Stormer previews an upcoming production model that will feature four conventional doors instead of the concept’s two scissors-action doors. Land Rover's managing director Matthew Taylor, said: "The production vehicle that follows will share many of its styling and technical innovations. It is very much conceived to be an on-road, performance machine, as well as class-leading off-road like all Land Rovers." The Stormer sports several technologies that will be incorporated into the production model, including Land Rover’s new “Terrain Response.” This technology alters the settings for the steering, throttle, suspension, traction control, and four-wheel-drive system depending on the road conditions. The driver simply selects one of six available Terrain Response settings (from 'dynamic' for high-speed driving to 'deep ruts' for hardcore off-roading) and the vehicle takes care of the rest. The production version will be powered by a Jaguar supercharged V-8 and will come with an all-independent suspension.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept-E
http://caranddriver.com/assets/image/l_152004205451.jpg
Hybrid technology isn’t just for fuel economy anymore. Proving that point is the Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept-E, which boasts a parallel drivetrain composed of two engines—one in front and and one in the rear—that combine to deliver around 470 horsepower. The front engine—a 3.8-liter MIVEC V-6—powers the front wheels, while the rear wheels are driven by a battery-operated electric motor that adds another 200 horsepower to the mix. Under full throttle and during gear changes, the electric motor provides a continuous stream of power, resulting in improved acceleration; Mitsubishi estimates a 0-60 mph time of five seconds. Aside from its innovative powertrain, the Concept-E is also an attractive two-plus-two coupe that heralds the design direction of the next Eclipse. But, like Concept-E’s nifty plasma running lights and neon crackle tube turn signals, the hybrid setup has little chance of making it to market on the next-generation Eclipse, which is set to debut in 2005.
