original kits from Japan has very good fittings...

the "crap" kits that u r referring to that needs lots of work i assumed are replicas which are a waste of time...

With or wo kit is subjective, and really it's up to individual taste.

I've seen quite a number of RX8s with chiong kits - how to tell? either cracked, or wavy lines, or poor fitting etc.

Please, you're not buying a rex, honda etc - this is an 8. if you cannot afford an original body kit, then get original addons if that's to your taste - or just keep it stock - don't insult the 8.

For those that think 'naaah. nobody will know' - note that pple can tell, and will be laughing behind your back.

Also lately, there seems to be tons of new 8s out there that have no respect for the law or for other 8 drivers - drive like madman. Guys, have respect for the car and yourselves, and let's not cheapen the image of the 8 on the roads

Just got back from a vacation to the land of the rising sun...looks like this thread is still buzzing!

Anyways, an interesting observation...spotted a few 8s in Tokyo while walking on the streets and also some parked beside my Jap friend's car on a couple of occasions...to my surprise, none were kitted, except a red 8 with only the Mazdaspeed GT wing, somewhere near Mt Fuji. All their rims were stock too.

Spotted a few STIs and Evos without kits too...quite contrary to my erstwhile held beliefs about the Jap auto scene...or maybe I was in the wrong prefecture / part of town!?

Most of the Japanese are really polite and sound drivers...and have positive traffic rules, like how to say 'thanks' using your hazard lights when someone gives way to you. Had a really pleasant time cruising (as a passenger) on their highways...we S'poreans have got plenty to learn from them...
