Hi guys, just a quick check. When you guys receive your brand new sparkling RX-8, how may km was on your dial? When my dealer show me my 8, it was 14.6km.

Cheers

Hehe, mine was only 6km when i first saw it and 9km when i took delivery of my car. This was after the inspector at the STA inspection ctr took the car for a complete round around the inspection building. I knew it bcos I was there and witnessed the entire inspection. The primary reason for being there is to ensure that the rear quarter windows were Ok and they were. The supervisor even came out and explain the LTA's stand on the rear windows max allowed tint level to me. So 4 all of u who have got clear quarter windows and would like to have it restored to the original ones, just contact ur dealers as I am sure they still have the glass.

6km that's pretty low. Congrates on your car. Couple of hip-ups for my case, but hope could get my car this week.
As for the rear window, are you saying you went in with the original tinted window? And they approve that?? Please clarify.

cheers

Tats is correct. I went in with the original tinted quarter glass 4 my inspection n it passed. They even took fotos n submitted 2 LTA. Also tested with their meter which gave read-out which conform with what the law permits.

'quarter glass' meaning the 2 rear side window right? But how about the rear windscreen itself? Sorry for being so 'lo soh'.
Thanks again.

The main reason for the low mileage on my unit when i took delivery is bcos the car was transported on flat-bed when it was moved fr port to showroom to have the rear glass replaced and again fr showroom to inspection ctr and back to showroom again. Even the inspector told me this is rare as most PIs would just get someone to drive the car to the inspection ctrs.
