Steering wheel control panel removal

Hi,

Anyone has any clue on how to do it (no luck w forum search), or any workshop (mine is PI) that knows? The one on the right is rattling loud, at traffic stops (in D gear). I'm a quite surprised.

Thanks in advance.

It might be your engine mounting that has worn out bro which is causing all the rattling sounds when you are stationary.

Its a known problem with the Renesis and mountings need to be changed every so often.

I had the same problem and MM changed mine for free as my car is still under warranty. The car now is smooth as silk and has zero noise & vibrations, even when stationary and idling.

They call it "Recall" in this forum. it is actually a small problem. u do not need to open up the panel. all u need is to grease it. u have to grease it from the holes located between the hood and the windshield. what u hear is the sound of 2 plastic knocking each other without oil. Go Tech section look up at the Issues & problem section.

hi,

I am aware of the engine mount thingy - thks. But it can't be - mine's only at 6K mileage! The car does idle rough at stops, but I think it's ok.

Perhaps I should clarify - it's the small blank panel cover on the steering wheel on the right side - the left side is the audio control panel. It buzzes like a bee, of and on.

Cheers.

If you are right-handed and use the downshifters often like me, check the downshifter on the right. Mine is rattling a bit and is loose, unlike the left side. I only hear it rattle when my engine started to vibrate, otherwise I wouldn't know it's loose.
I would think there are some kinda screw at the back of the said panel u mentioned.
Is there? I'm just guessing...

Yup, I do have some rattling noise too, like some wire came loose from its clip and its rubbing against other surface when ever I'm doing heavy steering (eg parking). Hope some one can advise the 'operation' to access the steering. M only afraid of the air-bag. thus dont really dare to touch it.
