Exclamation Singapore - Problem with Hua Yang, Pinnacle and Garage R

Dear all rx8 owners,

Has anyone bought their 8 from the mentioned PIs before?

Was thinking to buy from one of them but would like to find out first if anyone of you has encountered any problem.

Cheers...

Garage R provides excellent service and follow up. Do a search - there are previous discussions on the standards of PIs.

Guess HY will prob be one of the cheapest but do take note of all the conditions. For servicing, just find a good workshop to go to after your warranty. 1 year quite short.

having said buying from world of wheels, its not becos monster garage is their authorised workshop then i said they are good.

Standing from a neutral position, so far there hasn been much complaints from anyone abt them. Based on past threads, tink HY is poorest except for the price. Perhaps what they say is true: u pay peanuts, u get monkeys. Watever it is, most, if not all PIs give warranty up to 1 year only or 20,000km, whichever comes first. Only Mazda give 3 years and 100,000km, whichever comes 1st but Mazda one is super subjective.

GR is good to some, bad to others.

Pinnacle - Again, some pleasant comments, and not too nice comments.

Very fair comment. WOW is very good. I got a few friends who had very good experience buying from them. U cant go wrong with them. GR is oso ok but think std drop a bit recently.

My advise go to WOW.

Cheers

i think so long as u are careful and u hv everything down in B&W then should be ok. u hv to admit, HY probably sold the most number of 8s. maybe it's cuz of the volume tat they have probs. i dunno and wun give excuse on their behalf la.

i just know mine's from HY and got one of the better deals at tat point of time (in terms of extras and price when i compare around). my warranty's over so my ride is no different to others now unless of cuz there's a bolt missing in my ride tat until now i'm not aware of bah. :p

Pinnacle motor uses jackspeed in tampines for their workshop.
their so called subsidary Automagic also uses Jackspeed.

Jackspeed noes jackass about rotaries. servicing my ride took me like 4 freakin hours even though i made appt. but somehow that day no temper leh coz
maybe i enjoyed seeing all the diff cars get serviced.

but that was my 1st and last time.

Automagic gave me a 3 year, 60,000 warranty in bnw but
so far not tested out yet. Since then I switched to their other workshop
called World Auto.

Let's face it lah, most PI workshops noe **** about
Rotaries or 8, except for MG and GR lah.

Simple test, change spark plugs, let's see what plugs they put inside yr baby.
Those cheap $4 plugs or will they recommend the original RX8 NGK Iridium,
2 trailing and 2 leading plugs.

Hi,

Like lawreo, I got mine from Hycarz, same OK experience I guess.

Recommendation would be to know what you want (accessories/upgrades/warranty-if-it-matter) EXACTLY, and check around the price and service feel (if the salesperson dun even know wat u talking abt, or talk ****-n-bull too much, you'd know better to proceed, right?).

Buy with eyes open- be diligent - check areas (B&W) - loan requirements, booking fee, sales agreement fineprints, COE/OMV, etc. I was even careful with timing the payment of the balance and car registration, etc.

very well put, i must say. everything still voice down to the one buying...got to know your stuff, do some research before buying. especially the OMV and COE part....will eventually affect when you intend to sell the car.

World of Wheels & Monster Garage

Having first time bought a car from PI, I think the basic rules are:

high risk, low price
low risk, high price

Of course also depnds on your luck, purchase timing, market conditions, etc.

Next look for the workshops they tie-up with. Not many workshops know about the rotary engine. Not even the reputable ones for high performance cars. Yes, they may be very good in some brands of high performance cars, but not the rotary engines.

I had good experience with WOW and am a happy customer. As they only do indent basis (no ex-stock), a few months (typically less than three) of waiting time is only the shortcoming for potential customers looking for ATs.

Now WOW tie-up with workshop MG is a perfect combination for potential 8 customers.

Happy shopping.

PS – I have no commercial benefits from any of the above mentioned companies.

World of wheels

Hi all, I think it time for me to voice out.. Thank you in advance for all our customers in this forum. I appreciate that. Well anyway there are good and bad PI around, dun really wan to comment on this issue...At the end of the day it all depend on the buyer what they are looking for...WOW believe in customer walking out of our showroom with a big smile not with a big frown. In fact no one can satisfy everyone, as long as the promises is kept and deliver than it alright...
I heard more terrible buying experience when those customer give me feedback about others...Same things we do have some unhappy customers too, as long as we keep our promises than i think it alright. Wow will try our very best to upgrade ourself even till now, that why in order to let our customers have a piece of mind..we tied up with MG for warranty and servicing issue...

Thanks to all once again,

Jimmy

I had abt 27km on my WoW car. But it ranges from car to car, some have more mileage and some have less....hehe just make sure you ask them for a full tank of gas on collection if you can (as part of your package). Within 5 mins of collecting, I kena pump petrol already...having driven a diesel van before, the first sting was the most painful. But the ache eases at 7000rpm upwards and you may have a silly grin on your face.

Hi silver,

Average mileage for a car upon delivery is about 20km, to and fro to vicom and some need to get things done like changing of rim, window film will take up a bit more.

Yea. Anyway, the last time I brought my friend to MM to buy his 3, the SE found out that I was looking for a PI 8, and she gave me a copy of all the Mazda suppliers. Was told that even MM purchase their parts from them. These shops are found in Jalan Besar and Waterloo area.
