Singapore has announced its decision on hosting a Formula One race today at 5pm.

The Republic wants to host the Formula One race to boost tourism and jazz up the country's image.

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has had ongoing discussions with Singapore tycoon Ong Beng Seng, who controls resorts developer Hotel Properties Ltd. to discuss the possibility of holding a street race to be held at night in the city-state.

oh great. now the govt has another reason to increase taxes, GST, ERP, COE and make our life more miserable. when the race crowds come in, prices will go up. Monaco of the East my ***. I was hoping they would fail but OBS must have paid Bernie a $hitload of $$$ for the rights to host a race (something LKY was too cheap to do decades ago). You do realise that this is also self serving as he just upped his asset value by 40%.

And now the media coverage will shift talk from discontent over minister's pay to the superficiality of F1. Sigh and the multitudes keep voting PAP again and again.

 

the ministers' pay issue was over long time ago dude....and you know how the gahmen will just cover things up in a short while...

i didn't vote PAP during the recent election either...and contrary to what you might think, the media doesn't all just report on nonsensical stuff....

if you didn't noticed by now, ERP rates have been raised by the gahmen...that was totally bullsh**t too....but wat to do..we still have to use those roads to work each day....

we're also censored alot by gahmen too..free press is not prevailant in singapore nowadays.....we want to report on other political parties' rallies which were MORE in numbers than PAP's....we were stopped dead in our tracks....so sometimes, it isn't because of a story we just post or report....its bo bianz then LLPL have to do it.....from the top down...

all the letters and phone calls aren't going to help...we're staying in a semi-communistic society governed by a bunch of ageing officials....have to give it time for the change....

other option: migrate

last option: start a terrorist cell group and begin pinpoint assasinations

very last option: commit suicide and make sure the media notices it...we'll label it as a sign of martyrism.....

**** this is really going to affect my property shopping. in 6 months prices have farking increased 40%, now with this sure kneejerk another 15% or so.

btw all this civil servant increment is bullshit!!!!! my wife is in the admin service but so what, she and everyone only gets a one-off "bribe" of 1 month salary - i.e. THERE IS NO MONTHLY INCREMENT, ONLY FOR MINI*STARS!

 

erh....think most civil servants are liddat bro..
when i was back in SG G*lf ****ciation, i only got one 13th month bonus, and NO increment after a year.....

how good is that when you're spearheading g*lf development programs across the country and clubs, plus running the g*lf academy at sss?

anyways, no point harping on the ministers' pay lar...they suka suka increase decrease is to their advantage....our increase of taxes simultaneously....

F1 will likely be in late august or sept next year....
place is clearly marked out these last two days in ST papers....they kiasu lar..must always be the first goondus to break story...

we all relax only over here.....let them do the work....we follow up...hehe..=)

meantime, you need an ALTERNATE F1 venue and track? come og on friday/saturday nights....i give you free tour.....plus got pit stop somemore....=P
