Nobody needs to be a guinea pig... virus drives an auto and he switched from K&N to A'pexi so no problems with the A'pexi on autos. So 8citing, you want to get the Simota Intake + A'pexi filter too?

The price of the Simota Intake itself is not under my "department" as the distributor will charge you whatever price after the discount, but as a guide they mentioned that their regular price is around $390-$400. The A'pexi Power Intake is around $110 with the 3" adapter ring. You may be able to find the A'pexi for less but it's without the adapter ring. Other material required is the wire mesh, a longer 8x40mm bolt to mount the A'pexi to the Simota pipe and black silicon to seal up the gap. I'll try to see where I can cut down on the cost but at this point I'd safely say no more than $150 for the A'pexi mod.

Vanquish, that's a bit hard to do because there's no place to attach the A'pexi Power Intake to as it doesn't come with an intake pipe. However, I MAY have a solution for you. I gotta go to work now, but I'll call you later today when I get back.

Just an update, the A'peximota has been tested today to run WITHOUT the VFAD installed. Throttle response was reported to be good and engine idling was fine - no drop below normal idling and no stalling when the engine was allowed to coast at high speeds. It seems the A'pexi filter and wire mesh are doing their jobs better than the Simota intake in it's original form. So for you guys who are interested to get the Simota intake and have removed your VFAD (or want to remove it), the A'pexi "mod" on the original Simota intake is recommended.

I'll reserve a piece for you when the distributor's next shipment arrives. Then I'll have to do the modifications to install the A'pexi filter into the Simota Carbon Fiber Aero Form Intake. Will update you guys on the ETA of the next shipment.

Yeah, forgot to mention the grunt.... The Simota Intake is definitely louder (but not by much) with the A'pexi filter compared to the original Simota filter. Has a slightly deeper "throaty" sound, so you guys looking for some grunt should enjoy it when you push your 8s. Normal driving is still very quiet, just slightly louder than the stock intake and barely noticeable. You can ask virus and jetblast for their opinions as they are using the A'pexi Power Intake as well. Although not with the Simota intake pipe and CF heat shield, but performance and sound should be similar. Coupe07 also tested the A'peximota intake, so he can provide some feedback.

Drifter:
I'll add you to the list. I wanted to get Racing Beat's REVi Ram Air Duct ever since it was launched earlier this year and from what I read, it works best with Racing Beat's own REVi Intake (obviously). I'll be getting a complete REVi Intake and Ram Air Duct set sometime next month.

8citing:
No problem. It's very easy to install, only 15 min job. I'll help you with it once I get the parts and do the modifications.

Ermm... Sorry, I didn't know it was in such high demand. I offered it to Vanquish because he also wants to buy over my fog lights. He is outstation now but will be taking it next week when he gets back. If he changes his mind, you'll be the first in line.

The RB REVi RAD can work with any intake but the "Ram Air" effect is lost if it the outlet of the RAD is not sealed to the inlet of the intake. It essentially becomes a "Cold Air" duct with any other intake other than RB's own REVi intake. That's the reason why I'm getting the complete RB REVi intake and REVi RAD and selling the A'peximota.
