Thanks alot for the update bro!!

Yup.... still checking confirming the details.. But we are extening the closing date to end of these week.... We will be collecting the payment sometimes early next week...

Just briefly, we will be leaving very early in the morning at abt 3:30am(so please plan in advance to sleep very early on fri nite ya). We will meet somewhere(probably at SPC near tuas checkPT, will be postin map) and convoy up together.... Meet the other KL bros at Sepang at 8:15am. Briefing, Lessons, then track till afternoon and lunch. After lunch will be hotel check in. U can either Relax at the hotel or join some bros who will be visiting some KL workshops to check out their Mods and stuff. Evening, the KL bros will meet us at the hotel and we will all Convoy for dinner.... then convoy to somewhere for coffee or drinks.

The organisers in KL is helping me to get a good rate for a fairly nice hotel. At the moment i personally can only get SGP90 for Eastin hotel and SGP140 Meridian Hotel(which is Super Porshe like a 6 star hotel and new... like Ritz Carlton) But not sure if bros are willing to pay tat price..... Anyway, keep do your suggestions coming in while we are finalising the accomodation.

Note:
1) U can bring your friends and family... lunch will be free for them.
2) Free servicing and inspection before trip(u can bring your oil/oil filter etc or buy normal or rotory oil at the workshop). Labour all free.... details coming up.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!
P/S: btw, u guys might be able to test drive some Track MODs up Protons and mayb Lotus... Keep you fingers cross

Meridian is super luxurious and the security is unbelievely tight..... I dunt think US embassy got that kind of treatment...... It got a vast front valet parking too.... For SG$140, maybe you should try Westin Hotel too...

It seems that Westin only have the Twin Tower Deluxe rooms at the moment...they cost SG$180 per nite...

Yes, Meridian is super luxrious, i stayed there before so i know :p.... and Security is super tight....
Actually I am getting SG$115 corporate rate for Meridian( http://www.lemeridien.com/malaysia/k...n_my1636.shtml ).... But they need a letter from my company if they were to extent this rate to my "clients".. Unless we try for the corporate rate for eveyone on spot.... they r usually quite linient over the counter :p

Im still waiting for the KL organisers to get back to me for other deals and cheaper alternatives..... Will wrap up everything once this is done...

For the moment... mayb you guys tell me what might be your budget for accomodation?

And oh, please start sending me your HP numbers.... U can either post here, or send me an SMS with your Nick and real name. My number is 91115977. Thanks!

Calvin

Just an update:
There may be other makes of cars joining us likely a supra, etc... but not too many cause at the moment cant meet the target for number of vehicles going to track.

BTW it is COMPULSORY for those who are driving in the track to have a helmet. Passenger who wants to sit in the car when its in the track also must have. Motorbike helmet will do but not SAF.

Thanks for the post again bro.... Yes, there will be a few other cars joining us cos the targeted amount of car is not met at the moment. There will be a Supra, R34 and NSX for example.... but dun be imitidated cos they are not hardcore drivers... most are new to track. RE powered cars will be the majority on track.

Ok bros..... just wondering anyone interested interested to join the SGtrackies in the afternoon so tat we can track the whole day? Thier timing is from 1:30 to 4:30 at RM$300 without transponder(device attached to your car to record your track timing) and RM $350 with. Can I have a show of hands who might be interested?

Helmets

Bros,

Here are some info on helmets.

For a basic one, u can find it at most bike shops.

If you want more variety, go down to kelantan lane and ask for AH BOY shop, most ppl will know the location.

You can find helmets ranging from $40 up to $200+ there.

You can also get FIA approved ones if you want.

FIA helmets not cheap. Arai (at Jln Besar or Serangoon Rd) FIA
version close to $1k. The next lower one is not FIA approved and
about $800+. Sparco (miki) full face about $600+.

Best look for full face helmet, more versatile (karting as well) and
protection and preferably snell rated. You pay more for the snell
rating. It's enough unless you are going for official races. HJC (at
Kaki Bukit) snell rated motorcar race helmet is about $420. IMO HJC
is a good buy if you are going to take up the sports long term.

Personally, I would get a basic one.. and after a few track sessions, if you decided to track more regularly and enjoy this sports long term.... U should consider getting better helmets. But if $$$ is not a prob.... do go for the HJC or the FIA approved ones... they are build and design to withstand impacts under crash conditions. Having said that, if you follow are the rules and regulations... the track is a pretty safe place design for racing. So listen carefully to the briefing on the 8th of April..... esp to the pro who will be giving us tips in handling our rides.
