i'd checked with a couple of PIs .....last sat just visited one....still taking orders......type s 6 mt at 113800..................another one also called me just now, say price dropped 107500 also for type s....

both guaranteed COE but must take 70% for 7 yrs....

so who is right? .....can import or cannot import.....

 

Book one ... wait 3 months and find out.

I think u have to check with more PI. My friend from AML (Ubi Auto Mega Mall) Currently only 2 company have stock of RX8 Display @ their showroom. Others got no lobang.
I heard VXXCARS return deposit to their customer.

 

There are only a few main import sources which most PIs share. If one of these sources are affected, all the PIs affiliated with this source will also be affected. GR may have its own direct source as it's a specialist, so i doubt that they will have problem - its the generic ones that will most likely tio

We trying to get just 1 RX8 MT6 for my customer, is already not easy.

But RX8 AT 6speed is not a problems for us. We have in stock and able to see the car if you guys are interested.

Dont know... but what's clear is that if it was a blanket restriction then it should have made the news when the PIs complain. But yet there are still PIs who can get cars so don't really know what to make of it. If its totally not true, then MM .sg would have taken the rumour starters to task for falsely accusing them of doing something which they didnt, i.e. possibly violate competition laws in Singapore. Well that hasn't happened so maybe it could just be half true, i.e. a partial ban for some suppliers or some models?

 

Well if Vincars return money then I'm pretty sure a lot of parallel importers are affected. Remember all PI take their cars from a common car pool from 1 or 2 importer. There might be leftover stock up for grabs but it is at ur own risk.

Many sales people being sales are those take order and then see first. Afterall there is a 3 mth waiting window period. Many may have the attitude of take deposit and wait 3 mths. If another source is found then good if not they will come back with excuses and tell u no stock have to wait somemore.

Maybe wait for more people to get their car before taking plunge for people who dun dare to risk it all.

I dun quite believe mandotcomm cuz once he posted his price on this forum and say stock available. When I called, he say if want car now have to add 3k. Wonder why this little attachment is not in the forum post initially.

in the meantime, i hope you succeed in clearing your ex-stock of AT sitting around. Me looking for MT anyway.

 

I think mebbe gfoo is right, cos June told me they order directly from a supplier in Japan. Maybe its only those PI who go through a wholesaler in Spore that are affected. Well, GR better be correct about this, cos i dowan to wait 3 mths, find out cannot get, and then have to wait 3 more mths for mm to bring my order in.

Anyway, it makes no sense that mazda corp would listen to mm spore and restrict their own sales. If mm spore twists their arm, then appoint a new official distributor who can sell more cars for them lor. Not like mm is doing such a good job in the first place.

 

In the first place MM.sg does not sell the AT model even though there's a demand for it all these while. So if indeed its true that they did succeed, then it can be interpreted that they are trying to create their own monopoly or inhibiting competition of which I'm sure will violate some anti-competition law here. I don't think they are so stupid. It looks like there's a supply problem but maybe its not because of the MM.sg thing but due to some other reason, e.g. existing supplier messed it up with their agreements not to resell to other parties in .sg?

The schedule is as follows :-
21 June ETD Yokohama
27 June Submit docs to customs for OMV
29 June OMV and submit docs to LTA for VITAS
2 July ETA Singapore
6 July Vehicle Inspection at STA
Install original in dashCD/MP3 player
7 July Register car at 10am. You can driveaway car anytime before 11am.

If inspection can be earlier, I will try my best to deliver car to you earlier.

Things to do :-
1) I will revert back with a price for your current 323 on 1 to 1 exchange basis
2) Pls confirm which insurance you want
3) Final and full settlement to Garage R Pte Ltd 3 days before registration by cheque. Cashier order 1 day before registration.

Yup, still can get 6MTs from PI no problem. Looks like only those dealers who don't import the cars directly themselves kena MMsg's embargo. I think my economic pressure explanation in the 'worst experience with PI' thread is likely to be correct.

I am in no way affiliated with GR, except as a customer, but I posted this cos I'm happy with their service so far (automatically informed me, no need to chase..detailed schedule and everything in b&w). Price also not that steep like what ppl think, considering the specs & omv.. now onli waiting for the abovementioned to become reality..

Yay, have been driving around for over a week in my new 8, and it has been really fun. GR delivered on their promise (maybe becos they don't promise too much)..say 3 mths means 3 mths... I must say, very transparent with no hassle at all.. Everything mentioned in sales agreement was delivered, and all the paperwork done for me. Good job. And cheaper than MM. Onli a couple of pics at the moment..

Somemore, the card key matches the official Mazda brochure pic exactly. Logo also doesn't look chiong one.

Haven't tested the speed cut yet, my license not bulletproof..somemore someone told me if driving licence kena revoked, flying licence will also kena revoked. One day i must go check properly. Anyways, only mod so far is 1 x child seat, but looking to put in the second oil cooler soon.
