RX8 from MM don't comes with BOSE Speaker
#2
yes most MM owners are aware of it. in fact lots of us are. aware of it. sucks ya? i would very much prefer the bose system too. the factory fitted is so so only. i am thinking of spending some $$ on alpine speakers and an amplifier.

I did both the front door (1 layer) and the side 2 little door (2 layers), now the door is solid and pretty quiet inside. Less vibration too ... sound is pretty compact and firm ...better now..or should say much better :D

Yalor. Some paid about 155K. Mine was 150K.
I got mine sound proofed to get better mid bass from 8inch speakers in front. Only set back is the car is heavier. So, no DRAG race for me!! Confirm disadvantaged....

1. When bent manually either by some itchy hand or a slight accidental knock when someone passes you, depending on the mechanism, it may break. -> $$$ I'll rather not have it even if its a freebie. :o
2. If you take a good look from the front of the car, it there's very little difference between the overall width of the car with mirrors retracted and extended. Usually when accidental scrapes happen while people walk pass your car, it happens below hip level. (carrying things, swinging hands etc.) Looks like you don't need it, even if its a freebie. :o
I'm glad mine don't come with electric folding mirrors. I can bend the mirrors in myself when parking in a tight spot on the drivers side just to let me pass thru.

Talking abt sound proofing, what i did was sound proof the boot(cos of my 2 10" sub) and the front. The rear doors scattered... cut some cost and you cannot tell the diff. In fact, if you really really wanna save money, just install without sound proofing. Listen to it first. If it rattles, then do that part. If it doesn't, don't give a damn.

Oh yea, for those mm owners, don't be too upset about not getting the bose speakers. They have high end and low end type and those meant to come stock with cars(read lower than low end). I think what Neon mentioned abt made in indonesia tell you quite a bit.
If you are really stingy and just want some improvement, I suggest just adding a sub and it would sound much better. If you are not the base base person, maybe you might wanna wire some tweeters for the high freq. Alternatively, go for 2nd hand equipment, save you lots of money and hey.... sounds great still

EBS, sgren, what about us guys who just want to upgrade the stock speaker system? Neon, Wanwe and the like have an awesome ICE...they have a boot based 12" woofer system and loaded amps. Simple guys like me, Genesis just want replace the stock speakers, but is the in-unit amp powerful enuff to support?

Yes. I did some research when I got my car. No prob changing the woofers and tweeters. U can even put a small sub without breaking the bank. It will definitely sound better than stock.
If u are on a shoestring, maybe add an 8" sub and the sound improves. In my case, I am saving money for some other stuff (TBA ) so holding tight to my wallet at the moment :D :D
