RX8 Japan spec speedcut

I just purchased a Mazda RX8 (A) and I noticed that there is a speedcut at 185km. Please advice how to remove the speedcut, beside changing the whole ECU. Many thanks.

If you lived in Canada, yes. Here the M/T and A/T transmission are the same price.

But if you're asking if I personally would like to trade with you, then that's a definite NO. I enjoy my 40 extra HP and lack of speed cut-off

tems900, thank you for your advice. Yours reply make sense, unlike some guys like to give stupid suggestion and think that they are very funny or smart. I dislike talking to small kids. I'll ask HKS for more details. Many Thanks.

actually any piggyback chips on the ecu or ecu reprogramming will remove the limiter(which is actually a fuel consumption map which cuts of fuel supply at the speed)

Be cool, be cool!!!

It will be good to get a piggyback ecu which removes speed cut, rather than just having a HKS SLD which cost RM1350. For that price, you might get a second hand E-Manage with software.

By the way. Burnog and Vincent are testing out a speed cut product which cost only RM500. If the test is successful, you'll have a new choice. But still waiting for them to reply.

I can 100% confirm that E-Damage, Apexi Rev speed meter and SMP 6 cannot remove an Auto RX8 speed cut. HKS already pulled back all the SLD for RX8 (A) to do another R&D before releasing it out again to the market. If a RM500 products can works HKS, G-Greedy, Apexi and Perfect power can close shop. Mines Japan replies to me that they could do it but got to send my ECU over, and it takes one month to be back. The cost is RM4K++. The difficulty to remove an RX8 (A) speed cut are due to the car is running on fly by wire and a sensor are installed in the auto transmission. A Manual RX8 do not have that sensor installed in theirs gearbox. Even, a programable ECU are havig difficulty tapping the RX8 wires such as Halltech, Power FC and UniChip. Most likely, I will send my ECU to Mines or trade my car for an auto 350Z which HKS have a SLD for it.

Mr.Kee, the boss of Links Power can help you send your original ECU to Mines for a rewrite on the Mapping and remove the Speedcut. You must emphasis what modification you have got in your car, what octane level of your petrol and others modification you want to have such as higher revs cut. Mines will try to do a mapping for you. I used to have a Mines ECU for my Toyota Supra (A) and its give me more hp than putting a piggyback on a original ECU.
Anyway, I am just a lady at the end whose likes to knows more about cars. I am not into drag or racing.

not only mines can do dat.... many renowned rotary tuners can do dat as well........

knight sports, r magic, fujita, re amemiya...... they all have their own set of programming of our ecus.....

and yes, once re-prgrammed, speed cut gone, horse power up, temperature goes down......
