Hi Destiny....and welcome...great choice of car, what colour? Best gauges kit I've seen is where the buyer gets a "gauge pod" mounted in the top middle of the dash, replacing the existing insert. The three gauges are then flush with the dash...very cool Others get gauges mounted on top of the dash near the steering wheel, but the gauge pod looks best IMO in terms of fit and finish. Yap Bros in Paya Ubi can do this, but a bit ex around $1.5k. I'm sure others can direct you to similar mods at more reasonable price.

Hi Destiny, welcome to the club. A few members have already installed Defi gauges. Some mount it on the dash beside the instrument cluster, others mounted on the A-pillar, I know of one with a gauge pod beside the instrument cluster and a couple have installed in gauge pods on top of the center console. I agree with Genesis that the center console gauge pods are the coolest. However, the center console gauge pods are mostly for 52mm gauges which will not fit the very slick 60mm Defi BF gauges. So far, the only center console gauge pod that can hold 60mm gauges that I know of is from Amemiya, but it's a pricey piece of plastic at ~S$500. How you want to mount your gauges is entirely up to you.
Whichever way you choose to go, you still need to get the gauges. The gauges themselves are around $300-$400 depending on what it measures. I'm looking to add gauges too but I gotta finish my current project on my 8 first. I've got a good source, can get the stuff for cheaps. Can get together if you're interested.

Hi Destiny
There is a sacred book for RX8 affectionately known as HyperRev which list almost anything u need/like/want/lust for ur favourite car. Most owners here have one and it is available at most car shops for browsing or at Book Kunikoniya at $50+.
U need to attend our meetups to have a first hand look at some of the owners who installed the meters. They are not cheap but look real nice. Anyway do come in the forum often as the comradeship for the 8 club is very high.
U may want to see if u can add ur name to the Polo Tee order. Our very own RX8 Tee!
Cheers

the ever popular gauges are DEFI gauges... but they do cost a bomb. EVOS and WRXs standby them, as well as many sports makes.....
blitz do have a new mirror-like gauge, which is oso a stunner... however i still tink defi beats blitz gauges hands down.
as for the gauge holder, like wat sqflyer says, they do cost a lot "for that piece of plastic" but they look good..... so u pay for the aesthetics, literally.....
the hyperev book is called the bible for rx8. must have, cos thats the book where all the mods for the car is..... suggest u ask someone to help u buy in japan, as spore cost 51.40 per book.
the best is, come to our meetups, dun be shy, and see for urself wat mods suits u best.... most cars are modded in some ways or another so u can see wat u like and wat u dun like.....
hope this helps.

Regarding the club polo, the ladies' polo has not started production so those who are interested to get their own polos for the embroidry can pass your polos to Cannavaro.

Hi sgflyer, i'm quite keen on the " casing" for the meters, but have not decide on where to placed it. Can u provide me with the contact number of the shop that sells it... i think u mention Amemiya rite? is dat the workshop? So its the price reasonable there... Cos i'm looking for smthing nice and price reasonable.
And also another thing is about the Mazda speed Side deflector. I saw on the net they post selling for $560, but when i called them up the sales lady quoted me $733 !!!. so I told them her saw on webbie selling for $560, but she replied that :' Oh, the webbie is based on yr 2003, they have not updated their webbie!!!
Is there any place i can get similar side deflector at lower cost?
Appreciate ur help, Thanks Bro... :p :p :p

Hi Destiny, so far the gauge casings are only available for the top of the center console or the left side of your original cluster. Maybe there is one for the A-pillar but I'm not sure. Try to get your HyperRev magazine back and check out the pics to see where you would like to place your gauges. Amemiya is the brand that has a center console hood for 60mm gauges. So far, it's the one that I like the most but like I said $500 for a piece of plastic is pretty spendy. Nevertheless, it's the only one that can hold 3x60mm gauges on top of the center console so gotta pay the price if really want the gauge hood. There is an original Mazdaspeed one but that is >$2+K including the gauges. If not, you can always just stick the gauges on the dash without a hood/pod, but maybe not as nice lah. This is your personal preference. I want to get the Amemiya hood and Defi gauges, but then again there are many things that I want. :p Gotta pace myself (and my wallet), one project at a time...
Regarding the Mazdaspeed side deflector that you saw (I believe you saw it on Garage R's website rite?), Mazda Motor actually sells the "aero" package which includes the front air dam skirt, side deflectors and rear under deflectors for a little over $1,400. If you are interested, I know someone who is selling his aero package (original but 2nd hand) for $900 including respraying to your body colour. If you only want the side deflectors, then gotta check with him but should be under $500. Contact me if you're interested. Maybe can get the gauges/hoods done together.
