RX-8 Vandalism

Yah boy....he saw all RX-8, straight away u-turn and chao....quite funny....
But cops are good people....tonight one police car happened to stop nearby and they responded when I asked them for help. They patiently helped to explain the GIA form to the driver and advised him to tell the truth and not change story when he tells his boss tomolo. The officer was very pro and steady...quite impressed.

This is those kind of thick Rubber strips that runs from the front to the rear of the car to prevent people from creating any dents if other open their doors in the car parks.

I went to autopoint before regarding a dent on my saloon car and they told me can't be repair as the dent is just beside a beam within the door.
So only those dents with nothing behind the wall can be repair.

They are using something like a "PUSH method"
The way they do the repair is to have a Metal rod with a semi round head insert into the door and push the wall outwards so as to repair the dents
But there's a beam across the door in almost every car.
So if your dent is just beside this beam, TOO bad they can't do anything.
Another way is "PULL method" workshop will use a suction cap and try to pull the wall of dent outwards
But this will usually required some mending (cos the surface would not be as good as new ) and respraying maybe required too.

No use.... this cannot prevent damage from doors of pick-up, lorries, vans, SUVs etc. May as well put some money aside regularly for PDR.

I discover that the paint job on my Rx8 is not very good.
Just last week when I open my door and slow (very slowly) allow it to rest on the wall of the car next to me.
To my surprise the my red paint was so soft that it leave some red mark on the other car. I then use my finger nail and try to press on the edge of the door, and it so soft and it paint dent inwards.
As a result I bought those type of U-Shapped black Strips and cover the whole edge of the door. It works beautifully as its black in color so not very obvious.
