I have seen a OZ rims offer somewhere and it was real cheap. OZ says their rims are semi-forged and this puzzles me. Its 1 piece and how do you semi-forge it? Dun tell me they cast a rouge shape and forge the pattern?

But in any case, OZ rims can be quite light and the price/performance ratio is quite good.

I was shopping for rims and was shocked to know how heavy some rims are even if they looked light. And some branded ones are heavy too.

Hmmmm..... OZ rims.. hmmm... seen some that were damn nice...

anyways... How heavy is heavy? Whats the acceptable region for a 17" or 18"??

Will be negotiating again in the afternoon at the tyre shop...

my Financial Controller only approve 1.5k for tyres + rims.. (excluding $600 trade off for my 16'') ......... Headache....

By the way... any of you guys know where to get WINGS.........??? cripsy or original.. also can.. Hahhahahah

Just CHIE 1 Red Boxter S along Bukit TImaH Rd at 2am ++ ....... Good car... but lousy driver....

YEAH!! YEAH!!

The boxster is a "slow" car. Most porsche owners think its too watered down and consider it a poorer man's porsche. But i think its cool thought it could really do with more of porsche's power.

Not so sure about wheel weights but if its heavy to lift compared to other rims than its heavy. If its going to be more than 25% heavier than stock, than i would say not worth it.

Your budget will definately not allow for forged units. Maybe should consider spending just that bit more. The 17" OZ rims with tires should run about $2500 plus minus and its quite light. Nice, light, cheap and branded. What more can you ask for?

I have good lobang for 2nd hand rims and tyres. (eg. 18" BBS with tire for about $1k plus) Its so cheap that i almost fell off my chair.

But i am quite skeptical on how durable these rims may last. And for rims, minute imperfections or damage will not be able to be seen or detected by even microscopes. And they do break, especially cast ones.

Considering the 8 is a relatively powerful car with a weight of 1390kg unladen. Its really a gamble.

But if you really are interested, i can PM you the contact.

SgFlyer and All Bros, How would you hv reacted if a driver horned at you and cut into your lane so acute that you have to JUM brake to let him pass... ?? In this scenario.... its a F430...

Yup. Those BBS rims are like solid blocks of metal.

And how would i react if a F430 cuts me? Just pity the driver. Most prob its the young spoilt basta*d driving his dad's fruit of labour.

If i drove a million dollar car that was bought with my own money; i will not risk it against something that costs a tenth of the price.

How many of you would cut a getz without a reason? Just to prove you are faster than a getz? Or to confirm your accident bill is more expensive.

you want to treat a F430 to your wiper jiuce??????

next week you will be telling us you got chiet by a Gallardo, Koenigsegg CCR, Pagani Zonda, SL55.

the fact is when you want to race with a F430, you don't know where you stand.

Do you think anyone will pay $900,000 for a Murcielago if it can't even
outrun a $100,000 RX8.

please lah, even if you want to chiet someone, choose you victim wisely lah.

why would the 430 want to horn and overtake you?
what did you do prior to that?
May just maybe you were road hogging the right lane on the express way?
Or maybe you cut into his lane before that? or maybe you treated him to some wiper juice on his just polished 430.

I have been driving the 8 for 7 months now, I have NEVER been chio or chiet by
any cars. It's not what you drive but how you drive.

driving on spore roads is quite stressful, take it easy

.................

Think I was already cruising at 110++ on the first lane... The fella came to me from the 2nd, trying to overtake but angle too acute and too sudden...

Whatever the make, I dont take it lying down when some reckless young idiot cut into me and nearly push me to the divider.. Doesnt make a diff even if its a Ferrari...

If you come across such situation .. i dont think you would purr and meow in some corner and feel sorry for yourself... just becos you dont have a rich daddy...

Well... I think i should start saving $$$ for my Ferrari.. ahhahah....

Blackeight is right. Why would he bother you if you did not provoke him? And the only time a supercar will conciously allow you to treat them wiper juice is when they are PARKED.

Isn't it a bit childish to take it so hard that someone overtakes you. Even if you are 110+ in the first lane and in front of you is clear; aren't you road hogging? If you see a car approaching from the back, its proper to let him past despite your own speed.

Having a rich dad is good; but making yourself rich and buying your own car is so much more satisfying.

Seems like you got a rich dad; so why not ask him to buy you a ferrari and you need not save.

And the saying goes: No smoke without fire...

Guys I think you got it Very Wrong...

Let me put it in NARRATIVE format. so that we wont have to continue this debate whos right whos wrong.. and insinuate further..

One early afternoon.. i was driving along AYE towarrds East Coast at about 100++ (any TPS ard??)... when Suddenly, I heard a loud Horn. I turned to my left... and saw a Red Ferrari who immediately sprinted forward to overtake me at an angle so acute that i had to Step on my brake to avoid collision.....

The reason why i was really mad was because I was forced to brake due to his angle in overtaking....

Reading the earlier post on this issue, I realise I was a little RUDE to those who gave their 3cents.. Sorry Bros.. No offence..

Anyways.. there was only 1 clear winner in this SAGA: The petrol Kiosk ($$ wasted on revving.. regret)

Lowrider: On the contrary, its a Chio bu, early 20s.. 36C 24 36.. and goes by the name of TAMMY.. Please la.. split second spurt in front of me, only see the car's RHS Rear + Backside...

<-- This is damn cute..

This thread is really old but I must say that I do get "zhio" by taxi drivers mostly. Must be the GT wing effect. Most of them beat me cos I don't wanna risk my 8. Exactly how a wise person will not risk the 430 v the 8.
