Racing Beat

New goodies for our 8 just reached our shores.

5 sets of Racing Beat Revi and 2 sets of Ram Air Duct. Am personally using the RB Revi with Ram Air Duct and I can tell you tt it is great. Good linear acceleration from the get go. No low end lag. And the sound is also beautiful. Not so loud till it makes your car sound like a ________ (fill in the blank with your "fav" ah beng "rocket"). Quote from RB's website:

"The REVi intake system addresses one of the most common complaints that we hear regarding aftermarket intakes for the RX-8 – extremely loud intake noise! Although a simple unshielded “tube-and-filter” intake system may produce respectable top end power, the noise levels that are produced are unbearably loud. During initial testing with one of more popular aftermarket units, we recorded a full-throttle sound level reading of over 90 db inside the car, with the windows rolled up! Compared to the stock sound level, we believe that you will soon tire of this type of “rocket-racer” intake buzz. The REVi intake produces a much more modest intake sound with only a 2-3 db increase over the stock system. As described on by one of our prototype test volunteers, “This intake is definitely louder than the factory unit, but not unreasonably so. It actually sounds deep and pretty darn good.”

I totally agree.

Those interested can PM me for more details.

Here's some photos of the air intake and duct.

Anyone compared the revi against the Re amemiya intake?
They appear pretty similar, but the ram air duct for the revi looks larger.

Re intake box opening is much larger than RB, is also larger than the opening on the impact bar which the oem air duct go thru. No intake duct from RE yet, suppose to launch summer 05, seen like they not doing it anymore. I don't think there will be much different on that slight performace gain, RE or RB are good choice, if don't care about noise or water flooding problem AEM or Greddy

Just got my revi intake this afternoon
Loving it. Can't wait to hop into my car again, so I may actually offer to drive my family around tomorrow.

Performance wise, I do feel the gains, and the sound is sweet.. not too loud, and its deep and bassy. Very manly, I like.

and thumbs up for Ivan, I loved the service. Boss clean my engine bay for me leh, and sorry to make u the leaf picker

Overall I'm very satisfied with the product and service.

Leaf picker and engine cleaner are just 2 of the extras he wil do, u should have asked him to give ur dash board and interior a shine too. I saw wat he can do with his box of magical tools ! Somemore he can do so in record time !
