Qn on Income Insurance for RX8

anyone offered quality plus plan (ie no excess) from income on RX8?

wanted to be clear on this as i was quoted over phone there was (somemore told me $1492 after 40% NCD) and yet agent told me quality plus is not offered for RX8 as it is a high performance car. called income again and one of the staff mentioned quality plus not offered for RX8 for anyone. confused due to the discrepancies and just want to confirm if this is true.

thanks in advance for any inputs.

If the staff already told you they dont offer plus, your that 'someone' would probably has make a mistake.

The earlier time when the RX8 just came on, there were still confusion with at wat level the insurance should be. Think someone here actually was quoted with just a 4 door sedan rather than a performance car, thus these guys might have 'plus' due to the mistake.

From what I know, new car owner no NCB $1950 from Income when I inquired last Oct. Some small excess but cannot remember. Same as any 4 door sedan car.

I got quality plus from income. The agent got me quality. I just went down to the income counter and top up a couple hundreds and voila quality plus. No more excess to worry about. I did it last year nov.

I've 'plus' 2-3years back with my previous car, wat i dont like about plus is one MUST use their authorised workshop for any kind of fix. Unlike just with quality, one still can go to a outside workshop of your choice to get their car fix after idac has assess the demage.

And with a unique car like the 8, m just afraid their so called approved authorised workshop dont have the expertise to work on the car....

hmm...i think tats not correct. the thing with ntuc is tat regardless of plus or just quality, we must also use the authorised workshop they decide on. see

http://www.income.coop/insurance/motor/

what i can say is just that there's a clause say if specialised labour is required then no need their appointed workshop. so hopefully our 8s are catagorized as specialised skills required.

If your car is under warranty, Income will let you go back to the agent.

4K?!?! wow, tat's super high. and furthermore from ntuc. honestly, ntuc's insurance is about the cheapest in the market. hard to find other cheaper ones and some may not insure performance cars like 8. at least tat's why i know.

i heard in the beginning when the 8 just came out, they didn't know how to classify it coz it's got 4 doors so it was class as sedan. then later as it became more common, more insurance co. insured it and now it shld be classified as a performance/sports car.

so i think wif some insurance co. they still put as sedan.

As long as it is legal it is not void. However, if you claim against others, you have no problem replacing the damaged part but if you claim your own(hit and run or your own fault) then you are only entitled to what is originally there when you get the insurance. Eg, you bought the car and got it insured and later you decided to get some bodykit. You accidentally crash into the tree and now the insurance company would restore the car to the original minus the bodykit.

But if you bought the car with the bodykit and got it insured, then you are entitled to claim for the bodykit.
