Problem with rainy days

These few days had been stormy and rainy. I cannot help but notice how blur my windscreen becomes even when wiping. Anyone got similar problem? All my previous car at least allow me to see something...reduced vision yes...but not like driving near blindness. This is madness....

What could be the problem? Windscreen or wiper?

This may sound unconvention but a good pair of sun glasses with polariser on heavy rainfall days actually cut down on ambient light and allow u to see more clearly, even at night!!! Try one and u will know the diff. I know it look weird wearing sunglasses at night but hey, u can do anything driving a 8 !

I was thinking the exact opposite the other day it was raining here. My wipers work very well, better than our other cars. Was wondering what made them work so well...

Maybe the blur was from a fogged up window. Turn the front defroster on.

that is strange... mine sucks....i noticed that it does not sweep the water off the screen smoothly and thus leaves some 'water blurring' which takes a while to clear. And when the rain is heavy, the whole screen becomes bad.

No...it is not due to fogging. It is due to the water. Think I can still recognise fogging from water :D

I had this problem way back when I got my ride thru a PI.
Nothing wrong with the wiper, just the windscreen.
Manwe, you got to do some exercise during the weekend now.
Try to get a bottle of "Autoglym" Glass cleaner. Clean it 2-3 times a week. Eventually, that little coating on the screen (which means it is NEW, but MM didn't clean it up well) will be cleaned after a couple of weeks.
According to what I understand, that coating on all the glass is to protect it during transit to Singapore. (Sea breeze, sea air ..etc ...)
Hope this helps.

Aiyah, I've had this problem with every new car which i purchased regardless of whether its PI or thru the agent. Tried all kinds of "cure" incl Autoglym, newspapers, vinegar, dish washing liquid etc but conclusion is that they dun really work, no doubt its gets slightly better. The one day, i send my car for waxing at Safra Tampines and told the man about my problem, he told me he could do it and voila!, HE DID IT. I did not asked or saw what he did but it sure turned the windscreen spotless! Every sweep of the wipers was streakfree and u dun get the see those millions of waterspots on the windscreen esp if you r driving at night! So pleased with the result that i decided to send my wife's ride to him for the whole treatment the following week and he did the same to the windscreen. One thing though, the waxing was nothing to shout about. Btw, i think the guy's name is Joseph and he advertises in the Safra member's magazine. Hope this is helpful!

Question

Had already used those windscreen cleaner a couple of times. Doesn't seem to help. Maybe I am babying it to much. I'll clay it b4 washing next time and hope it will help.

I put zaino all over my windows, I don't even need the wipers most times it rains. It just sheets off.

Ya i've use it half year on my previous ride...rain-X can smoothen your windscreen/side/rear glass/butt( ) & believe it rainwater just slip off & will
not stick & dry up with a patch....but but there's flaw....like wat Neon says
if you don't use say 1mth-2mths, your wiper starts to "thud thud" "thud thud"
very irritating, it's like dragging your butt down staircases.. :p
this is my experience.
You can still use but married with it...hehe :D

Agree fully with SONE and Neon. I only used RainX on the rear glass and all side windows. I also apply it onto my side mirrors and it serves me well esp in the rainy season now.

I used Rain-X a week ago and it was fine, but this morning driving to work in the rain as Neon said the wipers began to stagger/jerky No more Rain-X for me....it's Zaino next, right Manwe? :D Btw, we have the same car, but that "water-blur" situation I didn't have even during the week before using Rain-X. Is there some sort of excess shipping wax/coating on your blades? Can't figure that one out.

Since I'm going to zaino my car, i probably stick to the zaino suggestion as it seems to be a tried, tested and proven method. Will post result....

Btw, driving home in the rain 2nite, with the Zaino treatment on the windscreen the wipers work very smoothly with zero water blur. Manwe, was that your experience today as well? Interesting, but I noticed the claybar picked up considerable "dust" or contaniments off the glass, more so than the painted surfaces.

Still have slight water blurring but very very much improved. But I only put one miserable coat on the glasses cos I was too tired. Only did 2 coat on the paint work.... Maybe next session I will put an extra coat on the glasses again....
