madalil lng naman matuto basta laging nagagamit... that's why we speak tagalog at home, specially to the kids... that way, they will maintain their proficiency.

btw, sino malapit sa paranaque? I might get a set of P45R's (17X9 in hyperblack) from Rota for my daily driver (so I can leave my track tires on the NT03+M's)... I heard it's a lot cheaper down there. I'll as my sister to pick up a set when she flies home this March/April.

Tutuo yan. Ako nahihirapan lang sa spelling. I was born and raised in Manila, moved here when I was 9. It's great for the kids because research have shown that kids who grow up speaking more than 1 language do well in school. Regarding those wheels, I don't know if I'd trust anything from the Philippines these days. You can never know where it came from or even if it's the real thing. Besides that would take a bunch of balikbayan boxes for your sister.

Dapat nga mag tagalog na lang tayo dito sa thread. Raizen kamusta na ang mga pinays sa Hawaii? I can only imagine...Tang ina walang masyadog pinays dito sa Boston eh.

Glad to know Philippines Thread is active again

Hello guys,

Have been away for few months now but glad that this thread is still active. I still think I am the only Filipino/Korean living in Philippines with RX-8. All you guys are still abroad?

Regards.

wow, you're the only one in the Phil with a rx8 and that's probably true. don't you sometimes feel you're the target of carnappers there since you have an awesome sports car (not to mention all your great mods) ? i'd be scared to drive around my 8 there... hehe

Wassup mga praning! LOL.. another "didn't know there was a pinoy thread" noob... Pinoy here came to the US when i was 10, dad from pangasinan (pangalatok) mom from angeles (kapampangan - MEKENI MEKENI!)....wife's family from laguna (tagalog) and baguio (ilocano - DIJAY DIJAY!)... meh, i can speak but i hab a slang wen i tok.

Didn't see much 8's where we were there last year...

I might wanna hold off on buying wheels here and wait to get them in the PI when the in-laws go back... anyone actually do this? good idea or no? eh?

...oh to the Cali peeps, we gots Jollibee in Vegas now too.

not really since there are lots of very nice/better cars in the Philippines (ferrari, porsche, bentley, etc). I did see one that belonged to a top honcho (japanese dude) of Mazda Philippines, same velocity red - thought it was my car but then I was driving mine - lol.

You could inquire on these forums

www.protegetech.org -- local mazda (tech) chapter

and about the taxes and custom charges here at

tsikot.yehey.com/forums

goodluck!
