I am getting a Type E auto RX8.

but the audio system of this car was initially changed to aftermarket audio player.

will these effect it on the maintenance side?

i know when fixing mazda 3, the machanics need to insert some CD into the OEM audio system, act as kinda computer system.

would it effect the perfomance?

Nothing will affect the maintenance of the car.

AS for the CD they had insert into the audio system, I believe its a Music CD they used for audio tunning.
U can buy the CD yourself too. Its not a normal music CD, the CD allows u to adjust your Amp, Headunit, woofer, speakers individually (if your Headunit has Time alignment)

Just remember one thing remember to remove the power supplys from the Battery before any installations. cos if he accidentally pull the wrong wire (eg. speedometer) the car ECU will go blank and u will not be able to start the car, unless u tow your car in to MM to reflash the ECU

Reflashing the ECU can also be dont outside , and the cost is range from $400-$800.
