Dear Malaysian RX8 owners,
We're trying to assemble the biggest RX8 meeting ever for the car enthusiast magazine Hypertune. We have limited days to shoot this, so it may fall on either the 12, 13, or 19 April. It would be nice if the Penang RX8 gang can also join in for this. Since HPC is to be held on the 20 April, hence 19 April may be a good date.

RX 8 issues???
Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I hope you can help me out.
I'm about to put a downpayment on an 8 but have been having a lot of reservations about it. I love the 8's styling and the interior but I'm held back on the issues that I've heard about it.
I've had friends who have owned the rx7 FD's before and this guys really maintain their cars very well even rebuilding their engines when needed and they are advising me against getting an 8 as it can be unreliable. One of their comment is "I'm always afraid whenever I get into a traffic jam.... cause I'm never sure if the car will die on me or not just like that without a reason" And I seem to be reading this alot in other rx8 websites as well.
I know of another friend who bought an 8 recently and the car ends up in the workshop for a few days almost every month. Either for the engine light problem, or idling problem or something else... .I can't remember.
What I need is a no BS assesment on what to expect as this will be my daily car and I cannot afford to have it in the workshop more than 2 days a month. I travel quite a bit with the car as well and do not have a spare car. Maintenance (not counting engine rebuild) and FC is not an issue for me.... I just need to know on the reliability of the car.
Please don't flame me if the above is wrong or you guys don't agree with what I have mentioned. I'm just trying to get all the facts first before plonking down my hard earned cash for what I think is a very good looking car.

major probs so far...for my car none, maybe looking forward to change my engine mounting in mid or end of the year... other than that... nothing la... try to ask guys like lennon, the boy, they can tell u everything...maybe up to the xtend like which bolt should be at which place...(lennon) in particular...(sorry arr boss..)
should ask one of the guys to accompany u to the shop b4 u buy, maybe they can help u to 'xzamine' the car...weather it is a good car or just simply a rebuild post-xcident-car... not to scare u but still, there are cases like that...

Wanna make sure your purchase the right car??? Check the compression, use correct engine oil, warm up the car properly before thrashing it...... Many have no problem with car...... Rotary car requires specialist to handle it.....

ı thınk ıts better for u to go n meet up wıth these guys durıng the hypertune photo sessıon... maybe some of them wıll gıve u chance to drıve theır car... rx8club member frıendly maaa.... ıkatan kekeluargaan yang kuat....:D
