Mazdaspeed Original Bodykit

Hi guys,

Interesting forum here. I've just got myself an RX-8. Basically its a 2003 Type E. Brilliant Black, and everything stock standard. No skirting, nothing. Except for the front lip.

My question is i've seen many RX-8 which comes with the Mazdaspeed full bodykit (including the rear wing), are those bodykit original? With so many car i've seen also comes with the Mazdaspeed bodykit, are those difficult to find? Does anybody know where i can get them? I don't mind if it's a used kit. How much would it cost?

If all else fails, i plan to duplicate the full Mazdaspeed bodykit using carbon fiber. Does anybody know where i can do that? I'm staying in Kuala Lumpur.

Thanks in advance from this newbie. Cheers.

hi charlie. i am from sabah. 90% of the rx8 here comes with mazdaspeed bodykit. but inside this 90%, 50% of the kit is FRP which is duplicated from japan, some of them are from malaysia. i do not recommend u to buy any local made replica, very bad fitment and shape, it will cost u a bomb at the paintshop, u will not save much.

race craft can do full carbon fibre kit for u. but they are extremely expensive. its unique, go for it.

another piece of advice, nowadays there are too many mazdaspeed kit out there. why don't you drop by wangan racing at sunway and have a look. they have some original bodykit from japan to offer.

Hi all,

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.

Wangan has the original Mazdaspeed bodykit yes? Does anybody has any info what would be the approx price? (So that i can budget before going there).

Well from what I can read from the forum (since page 1), I've seen the Autoexe SE-03 is quite beautiful too. How much does Wangan charge for the original kit (bumper + bonnet + wing)? If possible, can it be done using carbon fiber?

Sorry if i ask many question about price and carbon fiber, because since my car is in black color, i think unpainted carbon fiber looks good on it.

Thanks again guys for the helpful info.

Ori Mazdaspeed with wing and painted --> RM16,000
SE-03 front bumper, Autoexe side skirt and wing --> RM8,000 below

Drop by STWangan for a quote....

Ever wonder unpainted carbon fiber wasn't popular in bodykit?? Firstly it demand high quality fine Carbon Fiber, workmanship which requires lots of money.... Carbon fiber can't flex so it must be make to perfect and it usually hard to align to bodyshape (bigger pieces like front n rear bumper), unlike FRP...... When CF was hit by stone, you get a crack, can be fix if it's minor, or live with it if it's major....

You'll definitely looks unique, surely attracts traffic police to stop you every time to collect 'lunch fee'..... Most carbon fibre features are use in front lip, bonnet, rear lid and wing, which is just highlighted small portion of the car....... Unless you're confident that the maker does a fine job on your bodykit, other wise people will think you're abusing CF.....

Yes, regarding the actual quality of the fitting and workmanship its not a good idea to make to carbon fiber.

I noticed that Autoexe SE-03 the parts consist of bumper, bonnet and wing. Is ST Wangan providing the same parts? It didn't show side skirts.

Actually 16k for Original Mazdaspeed part is abit too steep for me. Maybe i'll just settle for a Japanese replica. Any comment on that? I mean in terms of fit and finish, how far off are they in regards to the original? I hope it doesn't require drilling of additional holes (hope it can be a bolt on).

Or perhaps anybody has contacts with "kedai potong" to source for 2nd hand used Mazdaspeed bodykit?

i got it on ps2.

good about it is it look beautiful on graphics.
more reality on drag race, u need to shift gear and traction is a factor.

big dissapointment is how the rx8 kit look like. u need to use an ugly kit because the aero is best.
