Haha.. yeah after reading that thread i went to the dealer and asked him whether it was the same one. He told me that I could go back and claim his head if the car was an accident vehicle. Turns out the one my dad bought was there since march, so it couldn't have been the same one.
Actually we didn't search for it. Just happened to see the white one and my dad liked it.. so.. guess we're lucky then!

OIC... atually to play safe, can ask ur dad to request from the dealer to have the car send for a full evaluation test before signing the papers, that is to make sure dat the car is free from major accident ... :p :p :p

Wow! After reading her blog you guys better not try to be funny, this girl means business and she gotta be real hot.

Her day seems quite packed especially with having to tackle packs of wolves trying to "cop-a-field" her on a daily basis.

p.s. The pic that she took with her celica and 8, I am quite sure that its at chang charn road, Ho Bee car dealers/hin lung credit and the car's original plate is SFL. ( Man, am i obsessed or what!?)

Butt (pun intended) after measuring my FC over the last 8 months, I don't see any significant difference in averaged FC using 98 or 95. In fact, 95 gave me better mileage every now and again. So bottom line for me, 95 is still the most cost efficient and gives the same or better mileage. Just my 2c. Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself and if you think, or feel, or think that you feel that there is a difference between 98 and 95, then help yourself to it but gotta pay more lor. But go in knowing what you're paying for is heaps better than blindly following the crowd IMHO.
To clear some misconception. 98 does not offers more power than 95 nor can you get better milleage out of 98 as compared to 95. The number(octane) is just an anti-knock index. What it simply means is how smooth the fuel will combust. If combustion is not even, it will cause engine knocking(ie...firing in an abnormal way) and that could cause a reduction of power or worse engine spoiling.

But as long as you use an octane level which is = or better than the rated one for your engine you should be doing fine and you should not be experiencing any loss of power.

Next, the FC or power you can get depends on the energy density of the fuel which is dependent on the chemical structure of the fuel. Not all hydrocarbons are created equal. Some combust easily and cleanly(high octane) but gives very little energy and some combust not as readily but gives lots of energy(low octane but better power). So petroleum company uses different fuel mix to achieve certain rating and reasonable power to cost. So higer octane rating does not ensure better fc or power. It just have lesser chance of knocking

I pump 95 into my car and I'm getting anywhere between 330-400km per tank before the refuel light comes on. I noticed the difference in consumption is due to primarily my right and left foot, and also how many short/long trips I make. If you are wondering why I mentioned my left foot, its coz I use it only when I'm shifting gears. Its not just how high you rev the car in each gear, its also how much you "accelerate" from one traffic light to the next traffic light. Somedays I'm in the mood to hear my rotary sing, I speed from one traffic light to another. On other days, I'm more laidback, I drive slower and change gears earlier. But dolly, since yours is an auto, I guess its not so much up to you to decide when to shift up. But in any case, just enjoy the car and drive it. You'd end up pulling your hair out if you constantly look at your rev meter and also your fuel meter and trip meter! And besides, from my calculation, the big savings we get from our road tax is good enough to help us even out the thirst of our rotary engine (more or less anyways).

And btw, why isn't anyone here supporting our local company? Everyone seems to be pumping at Shell or Esso/Mobil. What happened to SPC? I go to SPC and I noticed that the staff there are always alot friendlier than those at Shell or Esso/Mobil. I pump at Shell sometimes coz its near my office, and I actually think/feel/imagine that the 95 from SPC is actually better than Shell 95 in terms of accel and consumption.

Anyways this is my 2cents worth....

hi

I support SPC! 10% even when everyone else is 5% for now !

Anyway, I was getting like 380 t0 400 per full tank with SPC 95 octane. My 8 is from MM and now back to MM again, at least for a month

Didn't feel that the FC was that bad, comparing to my other car, a 2.7 Trajet, also getting about 8 km/l - which isn't much fun to drive viv-a-vis the 8.

May I find out what happen to your car? Why do u need to leave it there for a mth?

Sorry for all the questions ask just curious and if theres a problem with the MM car I would want to look out for it on mine.

I just send the car back after one mth cos I complain the AIRCON is really lousy and Fuel comsumption is really high so they just do a tunning on it.

ok, been wanting to ask this for quite some time already but always forgot. I think one reason that my FC is good is cuz I like to set it to free gear and glide during like stops or highway etc. Does anyone know whether this is alrite for the car or any side effects? Serious question.
