Need your advise

My girlfriend owns a Getz 5 door auto (reg under her dad's name). She will be going abroad to study in a few months time, for abut 2 years.

Open to other suggestions, but mainly, the purpose of this thread is to get an idea of how to rent the car for the long period and what are the loopholes?

I can already think of a few things on top of my head.

1) Need LTA approval?
2) Car Insurance?
3) Realibility of the person renting my car?
- Ensure that he pays parking and traffic violations
- Ensure that he fixes knocks and dents when he returns the car
4) Who's responsibility is it to (my guess is us lah):
- Fix the radio if it breaks down?
- Pay for car maintenance?
- Replace bold tires?
- Fix the car if it, lets say, overheats after hard driving?
- Car inspection?
- Road tax/ Insurance?

Is there a template of contracts that legally binds the guy renting the car to pay for traffic fines and stuff? Cuz i'm thinking, if he didn't put cash card and goes pass ERP gantries, or runs the red light or get snapped by speed camera, the fine will be mailed to my gf. She must prove that the guy renting the car was the person actually driving it?

With so much complications, i'm not sure if renting the car out is the best idea, but its the only idea so far. Not to mention that the car would probably be abused.

Are there car rental companies that would take up the car and pay out a monthly $ to us whilst they take care of all these business?

Thanx in advance...

According to the newspaper I read recently, your current insurance would not covering the person who rented your car. You might have to get a seperate insurance as this is consider a "business" transaction.
