My custom made Rear Struts

Originally I just want to made a normal 2 pt Rear Struts.

I alway wanted a 4pt rear struts like the autoexe one. But due to the space constrain I gave up the ideal
My friend gave me some ideal in creating more space even with a 4 pts strut, Thats by bending the top rod inwards towards the back of the back Seat.

And I though that would it strong enough cos the Rod is bend instead of a straight one. They told me that the material used for the Rod is Mild Light weight Steel which is 5 times stronger than those Well Known Branded Alumin Bars.

So I agree in doing it and so the 2pt struts became a 4 pt rear struts.

Its not finish yet cos theres still some finishing to be done to make it looks like those Japan Made ones. And it will be powder Coat White like the Carbing one.

I believe that it can still be made better.

Just found out some close up photos of the AutoExe Rear 4 pts strut.

I could make used of the design of the Bracket.
The top rod from my design (which bend inwards) can be used to replace the Autoexe top rod so as to create more boot space.

Very interesting write up . Not bad welding too. Althou i would think that you could have gotten away with a small diameter strut bar . Using the AutoExe bracket design could eliminate some problems with alignment of the bolt holes that might come up.

Where is you get the strut fabricated ? How much was the total cost of fabrication ? What is the weight like of the new strut you design ? ..haha.. May be you can sell some on ebay and make some money .

Yes... you guys are so right, easier to share when everybody is at the meet up... not too sure which bus stops there but you can always catch a cab to kallang. I have been trying to learn how to weld for the longest time so I can't spot a good weld from a bad one. Unless of course it breaks lah. What to do... I kanna wood work in school.

morgan; yeah i knew that he wasn't from singapore.

Naughty Boy; What the paper work like on getting a Roll Cage approved? What car did you get it approved in ?

Lohsk:Spot welding huh . What kinda equipment are you using for it ? I read a bout about it, a long while back. When i was at borders. Monster Garage series books, there was one about welding and what welding equipment to use and what welding for different materials

As for meet ups, not for the moment. Yeah i could get by bus or get my brother's harrier(impossible to none), but i rather get my own car and drive down myself you know how it is ..haha..

My custom made 4pts struts is here. Its design to make for use of the boot space and it will not waste the empty space between struts and back of rear seat like those Mazda speed and Autoexe ones.

http://www.ultraracing.com.my/vehiclemodel/mazda.htm
They are selling for RM598 = S$270

Any one interested ?

Can help u to get for $220

If u do not want the 4 pt struts can also have the 2 pts struts for $120 only.
