Nothing really... pretty much just a rip off from some nice JDM products. I guess if someone has the means and contacts to fabricate, then good on you. Others just want the best for their cars. Sighs... maybe someone shld go and fabricate the whole Rx-8 and call it the Rx-8C....

Not everyone has deep pockets. Personally, I had to take up 80% loan and work doubly hard to pay off the instalments. I have to rely on 2nd hand tyres and replica rims and my only so called mod is an aircharger, from taiwan. God, if youre reading this, give me the combination to the next TOTO draw..

Btw, outta fun, I did a run with a few 8s (auto), some modded, 1 fully modded. Bottom line, a non-Jap product works, too well.

By the way, every forum you go to, if you do not search the archives before asking a question(which was asked before), you are bound to receive negative comments. Do a search, you will find some funny stuff like(ie, did you know you have an oven in the RX8 to warm up your frozen muffins for long distance travel? ) There are lots of information, though quite tiring coz have to go thru multiple threads before finding what you want. Then again, it will be more tiring for the contributor to repeat himself/herself, for the sake of trying to help.

I will not be surprised if some china car manufacturer comes out with a look a like.car. I saw some china made cars that look suspiciously like mercs on TV and some other Japanese-lookalike cars.

They have almost everything "copied" versions. Milk powder, eggs (bloody cannot believe it, recycled cooking oil, etc.

I do not know the full story of the RE pod story. But its akin to walking into LV and asking for their handbag so you can make one for yourself. Not that i am goody two shoes original item supporter. I get "copied" stuff too. In fact i think pirated software/mp3/movies reward the deserving (at least from my POV) I always buy the original game/CD/DVD/etc after i tried it on friendly versions (when its really good). And when a particular item turns out to be damn bad; i thank GOD that i only got the friendly cheaper version. The deserving should get what they deserve.

Derek, i do not know you but i am not aiming/flaming you or whatever. But in all fairness, MG is still a business. What if MG ask you to lend them your prized collection of DVDs to copy and sell to others?

And to clarify one last time, I didn't ask to borrow, but more of working with them initially. But when they refused, I was kool about it. I just ask someone else who has the product to borrow to have a look and see what I can do to improve on the product.
