My ings come from Japan. Its PU and price at RM7800. For FRP can cost upto RM6500.. At KL seems to a bit different from Penang, you can find more yougster like me driving it...... But the problem is that they drive it to attract girls rather than revving it....

T618Z is almost the same as TD06... After putting it on, the torque has increased dramatically..... can do 5sec for 0-100 guahh....60hp increase at 0.45bar is quite reasonable. But i haven't dyno yet. Imagine if i boost until 1.5 bar. Of course have to get low compression rotor, stronger apex seal, bigger fuel injector and etc.....

I am new in this forum...I am based in KL, Malaysia and currently looking to upgrade my car and RX8 is in my mind.

I would like to get you guys advice on the following and hope you guys can help me out

1. Any reliable car dealer which you guys know or recommend to get the car?
2. Noraml is wic year production car ? is 2003 tear good enuf or too old? what is the price ?
3. What should i look for when i would to purchase the car? any specific areas? and how to determine if do?
4. Automatic or manual is better ? currently driving a manual car


Yesterday drop by NAZA and saw one red colour @ 220k ..basic with out body kit ( without spoiler) and then wen to another dealer in pj and saw also another RED RX8 with spoiler @210K done 8000+ km..... any comment of the price?

Let me answers your questions:
1)This is a hard question. I dont even think dealer themself know about the condition of the cars when it's imported. Most you can find in Malaysia are reconds. So luck is needed. Naza gives you a year warranty, but the rest i dunno. But i not saying Naza is good, cos their services are bad(their mechanics are entirely not familiar with RX8).

2)year 2003 version is the earlier model. Try to get the latest cos ecu version might be different. 2003 model might range from RM175,000 to RM195,000 (cos some comes with bodykits, aftermarket exhaust or rims). RM210,000 is good for brand new, not reconds.

3)Overall i should say i haven't had any trouble with the car after two years of driving. I haven't heard a single complain from my friends who bought reconds yet. Try to look for oil leak on engine and suspension. If there's area which is suspiciously clean like suspension area or undercarriage, better watch out.

4)Since you used to drive manual, better go for manual. Cos Manual got 40 more horses and more options to mod in future.

Turbo kit are available at mutiara motors, but expect it to be more expensive... I get my turbo in Sunway....

 

Even our president is working hard to get money to mod his car... Have to wait for he's buzy schedule... Our pres is a hardcore king of ICE... You must see he's audio and amps, so chun man!!! :D

I bought and install my turbo at AMOIL. There are a few shops here that can get turbo at competitive price. I'll put on some pics of my newly arrived meterhood tommorrow.
