jdm 5mt tranny questions

hey guys, i own an '05 5speed rx8 imported from japan. ive been searching the forums but not much info with regards to the input shaft bearing for this specific model. Are the bearings the same as the 6mt? if not, can someone direct me to where i can find the bearings for the 5mt? Also considering changing my gear oil. I've read the 6 speeds use around 1.9 quarts. Is that the same amt reqd for the 5 speed.. Any help would be great guys.

G Dawg, the filler is on the left side of the tranny, on the main housing just left of where the rear housing bolts up, iirc, it requires a square drive or Torx tool to remove it.

A further question to the OP -

I have a JDM 5MT that I'm swapping into my FB RX-7.

I'm considering a rear end gear change, anyone have the gear ratios for the transmission? I've been searching but keep finding conflicting information.

Thank you very much!

I'd seen conflicting 3rds and 5ths. Given that I'm getting rid of a pile of overlap, I can probably go to the shorter overdrive, 1st and 2nd. With the 12A, 5th seemed to just dump fuel out the exhaust until I hit about 130 kph, so I ran on the highway in 4th. I'd measured and gotten best fuel economy with that engine in the 3-4k RPM range.
