how reliable is rotary engine for rx8?

If maintained properly, a rotary is very reliable. If treated poorly it is not. User care is more important than in normal engines.
It is good to go to workshops that deal with rotary engines. It is a unique engine so normal mechanics might be unfamiliar with it.
